Yeah, I think I'll pick this up. I'm sure there's good reason for mods, but from your pictures alone it looks great to me. Thanks!

My only nitpick is the eyes. Compared to the eyes from the armory version, these should have been painted a little more black on the eyelids. But as long as you don't pose him with his eyes all down, there's nothing to complain about.

Is the stock DX12 pretty good for a "casual" fan? While I appreciate why collectors would be annoyed at inaccuracies with such expensive figures, I could let a lot slide if it still looks good. The cape looks alright in the Hot Toys promo pics I've looked at but I've heard otherwise. I've tried having a look at pictures in this thread but many have custom capes so it's hard to tell. The only thing I've noticed from promo pics is the neck looks a bit long, but I wonder if having his head bowed slightly might alleviate this? I've also heard the stock cowl isn't too great either; what's the major issues? I have no reason to doubt anyone, I'm just curious myself.

I'm interested in picking one up but I don't think I could trust myself with anything past the most simple of mods.

You're fine getting this one. Mods make it look better, but it's perfectly fine straight out of the box. This and the Armory figure are the two best TDK trilogy Batman figures out there. Can't really go wrong with either.

To each their own. I thought the stock body was too small in my opinion. So I swapped the body and did a few other mods. Im very happy with the results now.

that mouth piece def works. i just saw bens 2.0 pictures and im not really feeling it. it would need a different mouth piece just like this one.

Nope. This is a tricky part. Cracked open the DX12 neck to recover the magnet. I then placed it in the neck hole of the neck sculpted neck. The magnet holds in place nicely. Next before appling the shoulder pads I draped a thin cloth like material. (I used a pair of my wife's old pantyhose) I then placed the shoulder pads over there neck and shoulders.

Once this is done you'll want to dip the neck wrap in Hot water to soften it up. Once you dip the neck wrap for a few seconds you slowly work the piece down on the neck thats clothed. This will give it the look of material once the Cowl is in place and also helps keep the magnet in place.

Thank you. That is a modified Medi sculpt and neck piece. The mouth and eyes have been repainted, cowl and neck have both been widened. The gauntlets and fists are also Medicom. The cape I made myself. I still hold to it that Medi's TDK cowl is the best. Here's another pic.

Anyone have trouble with the second belt, the less bulky one that doesn't have all the attaching parts to it? I can't remember which I used to display originally but it doesn't close or snap shut for me at all. Basically useless.
