This turned out well. Looking forward to receiving mine along with the First Order Officer next month. My final flex pay is still scheduled for the 5th on both. This will just about complete the look of my First Order group with the regular FO Trooper, Kylo Ren, Jakku, Squad Leader, TIE Pilot, Snowtrooper Officer and now these.

That visor definitely needs a little alclad102.gif

Well at least it's black already, so the metal lacquer base is already there, just paint and go! Here's a guy I like to follow. Super awesome painter.

Damn it Hot Toys! You guys screwed up the helmet by painting the brow line black! No way will paint ever match the chrome of the rest of the figure, as soon as you hit a good chrome paint with a top coat it dulls the hell out of it. The alternative is to just not clear coat it but that could transfer the silver paint all over the place if you touch it.

Hot Toys should do the right thing by reissuing the head with the correct paint apps to everyone who bought this.

Just like with SS 3PO's thumbs. Maybe they'll reply the same that they decided to change it to improve from the prototype.. :lol

That stinks when there's just simple mistakes like these. QC has gone to hell with these companies. But not seeing it is the least of my problems...

I can't unsee this : .... :rotfl

1st order trooper (2).jpg

which could've easily been this :

1st fo trooper (2a).jpg

such an easy adjustmen t to make it look more like the original design and not Disney and duck like...:(

But then when I can't unsee this face [emoji34] in the adjusted helmet then I prefer the duck...

I do not see a duck at all when I look at the new helmets. Some of you guys are just seeing what you want to see.

The new troopers rock! Much better than any of the clone designs we had for the prequels IMO. All the trooper designs are excellent updates to the original trilogy and they seem more like a natural progression of the originals.

It's too bad about the extra weathering they incorporated in the three bands on Phasma's forehead/brow. The more I see of it, I notice the prototype did not have the bands as distinctively sculpted as the figure being released. I know Hot Toys likes to fill in their sculpted lines with black paint and because these three are so close together, it makes me wonder if the lines were painted and then weathering effects added. Looking at larger pictures, you can see it's not totally black and appears to be more of a case of heavier weathering - the silver still comes through a little. If that's the case, I think I can live with that.

So something like this then?

I can see your point, but personally, I think the design they finished with looks more aggressive.

Good eye. thanks for pointing that out. I knew something was off but just couldn't ....

If you're bothered that much, the Alclad II will fix it right up. Will need an airbrush though and you shouldn't get any paint rub with that stuff. Should go on and stay on with no after dusting affect. Hopefully it's released here in the States soon.
