Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

She looks like a lot more fun in those Hunnipot pics. Reminds me of a girl I knew in high school. Probably reminds everyone of that girl they knew in high school.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

After watching FC again last night I have to say I want a Fassbender figure more than any of the rest. His performance was awesome. I really hope we see him sooner than later. I could care less for a Charles but will buy him if I can have the set.

Yeah, a Charles on his own has no appeal for me. But a Charles displayed with Erik does.

And Mystique >>>>>> Emma.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

i think she's beautiful and she has great face for Emma. But I agree that she was a bit blank in the film and a little too thin but I liked her as Emma. I didn't like Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique though. Probably has more to do with that scalely look they gave to her (and Rebecca Romain) which I've never liked but her acting wasn't all that to me either.

Same principle as the avengers. The amount of people buying hawkeye or nick fury would be less than half if they didn't have the whole team coming enticing people for a set.

Hot Toys has to know Magneto is the main money-maker from this line, to not make him would be an epic fail on their part.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Unfortunately Nova, Rorschach effect from HT is definitely possible on this line. :(

We can only hope they've learned from their mistakes.

With this being Marvel (an obsession of theirs) i can't see them not making one of the two main characters, especially when it seems so obvious to everyone else.

January Jones is beautiful, and if you don't think so... watch out. :lol

We can hope, but I'm not going to hold my breath or hope too hard, that's for sure.

Rorschach was the obvious money figure from the Watchmen line.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

If the wait is this long for Charles, I can't imagine when Eric will be in our hands.

Whether or not it'll happen the smart thing would be to have two go up for order at the same time like with Sucker Punch, MGS and some others.

They did mention at least two figures in the works, Magneto is a safer bet than others i'd imagine

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

If this line happens, which all indications suggest that it will, Magneto will happen. He is one of the two main characters, a character with a following in any media, played by a star on the rise.

Watchmen had a variety of issues that do not apply to X:FC.

:goodpost:

That would be premier, I'd like to hope that's what will happen. I mean, that would be genius, because it would quell any fears about Magneto not being made, and increase sales of Xavier.

That too. Michael Fassbender is slowly becoming a big star, and not in the popcorn sense. He's establishing himself as a serious actor, and he's a damn good one imo. So lets hope they make Magneto just to capitalize on that. X:FC is also likely to be treated better because it has a sequel as well, which Watchmen didn't.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

Watchmen didn't have a sequel for a reason :lol

Well obviously, lol, but you can't deny what sequels mean for merchandising. Just the interest alone keeps things going during the down time between movies. I like the idea of the pre-Watchmen thing that is happening right now, that could be a "sequel", little to late in regards to Hot Toys "Watchmen" figures though.

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

I hope it's okay to double post.. but I found this interesting.

I picked up the head and body of this new DiD German Infantry Soldier to use a base for my Baron "Helmut" Zemo custom (I wanted a non-scarred unmasked head), and I realized it resembles Michael Fassbender quite a bit.

What do you guys think? I might end up using it as a stand in for Magneto while I'm working on my Zemo figure. Just get some cool 60s clothes and done. Though I plan on picking up a Hot Toys body for him eventually, the DiD was only $10 extra so I figure I might as well have something work off of.

:goodpost: + Magneto is a principle Marvel character oftentimes voted the best villian. And he'd fit into the same demographic as there Avengers, and Spider-man customers

Watchmen didn't have a sequel for a reason :lol

Might get a prequel though :lol

Re: Hot Toys-MMS: X-Men 1st Class

It never made sense to me why they expected blockbuster numbers out of Watchmen, which fits the mold of a cult hit more than anything - the story doesn't lend itself to the mainstream, as others have said in the past. A faithful adaptation of the story was never going to have Batman appeal.

Magneto is more likely, yeah, but again, no hopes raised here. Once I see the figure, I'll just skip over hopes and go straight to happy.
