What are you guys talking about "dropped so much"?

It's been selling for retail, a little above retail, and just a little below retail.

I haven't seen many buying it for retail or above retail. I payed $210 plus shipping I think from sideshow, and all I see it going for now is $160-$175.

Its a strange notion that if a (HT) figure is selling around retail in the initial days of its release, it means that its not worth purchasing/owning. This is a one of its kind quality figure which will not happen often. People who are fan of characters Depp played in the movies will surely buy this; as well as all the others that will/may be released.

This'll probably end up like there Godfather figure, that hanged around for awhile after release, I even see it reduced on a few sites & still it took awhile to sell out but the ones who bought it, just don't want to sell it now, hence the high prices it now demands on eBay. I feel this'll probably have the same fate but if I'm wrong or right, mines definitely a keeper. From the sculpt, to the tailoring to the accessories, it's Hot Toys at it's best :)

I agree with you there. Low demand initially, then a year or 2, people who just got into the hobby will want it and since the hardcore Sweeney Todd fans plan to keep theres, it will be nearly impossible to find them again.

100% agree. I just had to shell out $400+ to peel a HT Godfather away from another member. I think he had 2, so that's why he was willing.

... but this figure is easily my favorite of all the 1/6 I now own. If I had gotten into 1/6 collecting for the first time 2 years down the road, this would definitely be one of the figures I'd fork $300+ for.

:clap

My tastes tend to differ from the mainstream of this hobby, but this figure is rivalled only by the Mars Attacks figures in terms of my love for it.

Now I really, really need to get to work on a Mrs. Lovett, because sadly Hot Toys will never ever make her!

..also add the fact that this isn't exactly the most popular film, the character won't be re-released because it's not an Ironman or a terminator, this will surely be the only 1/6 Sweeney there will ever be.

as well as most likely for upcoming Depp figures from HT. Like Ichabod Crane and Willy Wonka. I'm sure we won't see more than one of those as well. Probably only one Hatter unless they do like medicom and make a battle version and regular version thought i don't think that's too likely.

Besides Jack Sparrow who is already getting multiple releases and more with the coming POTC films most likely, these Depp figures will more than likely sit for a bit but become highly sought after in about 2 years time from their release.

I don't care how many Batman/Iron Mans HT releases, but this is definitely a keeper for me. Just the chair it comes with makes up for a pretty epic display.

Doesn't matter if the value goes up or down further down the line. I'm just glad we got this so collectors/fans have an alternative to the Medicom version. :lol

I bought two for the pre order price ad I'm still happy with them, but this is great for anyone that was on the fence about it. They will be able to pick one up for a song. Over produced is always good for the consumer. Let the cry babies who collect for value and profit eat it. This figure is still tops!
