The truth is that it is very surprising that this has been revealed sooo soon when there have been teased figures for more than a year (eg Avatar).

I understand those collectors' frustration, NOT their bashing on the pieces/licences they don't like/want/expect.

Maybe Hot Toys is just trying to get the crappy figures outta the way before the awesome ones

I'm not upset calcifer i'm just disappointed that none of the figures from the 10th annv show were revealed like 89 Batman

It just aggravates me that 6 months ago they give us teasers on a figure and now nothing has happened since then.

They release a Sweeny teaser 2 weeks ago and now a full reveal

i just don't understand HT's logic thats all


Like i said the likeness to Depp is amazing and happy for fans of this figure , but i will pass on it , i don't like it

When you put it like this it is a lot more understandable and I definitely agree. I even said something similar a few pages back. Even if they have been working on this figure for a long time now, I wish Hot Toys would at least be consistent and try to release figures by the order that they announce them. At the very least, it would have been nice if we had some basic teaser images of things like the Metal Gear Solid and Sucker Punch figures. It feels like a slap in the face when you're waiting for them to say something else about Metal Gear or Batman 89 just for them to not only announce a new lineup, but actually release two complete figures (Jack and Sweeney) before we ever even got a teaser about the others. It is understandable definitely, but we are having fun talking about this figure here so I would save that conversation for the respective topics.

Enough with the where's freaking superman and batman discussion We have like three batman's so be happy with that and as for superman.. well half of you are gonna nitpick that figure straight to hell. Either way patience is a virtue and i'm glad we got this figure since I missed out on medicom.

are people gonna start obsessing over these Depp figures like some do the Heath ledger Joker? 1 or 2 years from now suddenly this 'awesome sculpt' is gonna be obsolete with some new custom head with real hair.

Agreed!

I don't see the reason why people need to complain when HT shows 2 Depp figures in a row while it's perfectly ok to make like 8 IM figs of the same character, a couple of T-800s and a bunch of Predators.

So this license isn't as mainstream as those I mentioned above... That's one of the good things about HT IMO! The market is being flooded with popular characters from films like Iron Man or the Terminator series, from all kinds of manufacturers. And don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that.

But as soon as a company makes a bit of a bold move by making a bit more obscure character, all hell seems to be breaking loose.

Just look at this thread and all the positive reactions this figure is getting! I applaud HT for making this awesome figure, because this will look a lot more interesting on a shelf than 20 Terminators IMO.

So if you are not happy with HT's choice to make this, then please leave!

Wow that likeness is great,i am definitely getting this,better likeness than Jack Sparrow.

What has the sculptor Song Hye Hyun done earlier except Platoon?Platoon was very impressive when it came to the likeness,and so is Sweeney Todd too.
