i tried pulling the peg out with a pair of long nose pliers but it wont grip on anything as the part was broken clean on the hole :gah:

It's okay. Step one is your have needle nose pliers.
Step two is getting a small panel pin that has a smaller diameter than the hole. Even a sewing pin will be fine.
Grip the pin with the pliers(Pin head facing out) and use an elastic band to close the pliers handles to hold it in place securely.
Then use a lighter to heat up the pin. When it's nice and hot, plunge it into the part stuck in the hole. Leave it ten minutes to cool down. When it's cool, you should be able to pull it right out with the pliers.

gee this is the first time ive heard of this technique so ill try this out tonight. so if the pin gets really hot, ill sink it in the broken peg so it will 'burn in' and get inside the body of the peg?

Yes. I'd get it glowing orange then give it ten seconds to cool again before pushing it in. If you use a sewing pin(And it's hot enough), the pin head should melt right into the broken peg and be encapsulated by it. Give the whole thing maybe ten minutes to cool and the peg and pin will practically be one piece. Should pull right out. Just be sure and only stick it into the broken peg, and not the area beyond. Or the pin might be a lot harder to extract.

I have this same problem with my Dutch figure....hopefully this will work....

I just recently received this guy and this figure, with all its detail, amazes me. It's my favorite in my tiny collection. I also just got my camera back, so I figured that I would contribute some of my own pictures of this guy. Hope you all don't mind.

Sorry, Captain America is also a new figure for me, so he made his way into a couple of Iron Man's pictures. :)

thanks dude, finally was able to remove the peg. sadly though the pin didn't quite work as i tried maybe 5x to sink it inside. it did cling on to the plastic alright but everytime i pull out using pliers, the pin just goes off after pulling a fight. this created a small hole though that enabled me to work my screwdriver in. thanks thanks!

It's always worked for me...
Glad it gave you a little opening though.
I meant to also say that another alternative is to make the hole and put a screw into it to pull the piece out.
It's an old trick.
