I want to do something about the color of the body netting as well but I'm not sure I want to paint it. I took it off him and it got all tangled up and was hell to untangle. I'm worried if I soak it in paint it will get super tangled in the process.

i did the netting on mine and i had no problem with it i used some grey and brown and gave it some tears , i need TD's bio my only problem was putting the armor back on over the netting

Yeah I'm planning on cutting the netting around some areas like the knee pads which I'm going to glue directly to the knees.

Hes a good looking predator for sure, the closed mouth is not so much p2-ish, but the open mouth looks very good.IMO

Here's the current state of all my repainted pieces. I really tried to get them as close as possible to the film costume. The film costume though varies quite a bit depending on when during the shooting the photos are from. There also aren't a lot of great photos of some aspects of the costume. The back is going to pretty much all be guesswork for example.

Oh and you can see on the inside of the left thigh armor how I started the paint work. I began with a solid coat of bronze paint, then added verdigris, black wash, and then picked out some additional details very carefully with both bronze and the verdigris.

One interesting aspect is that the disc holder on the leg looks like it's meant to be leather. If you look on the actual prop you can even see stitching in the sculpt.

those parts look too much like 30 years old yellow movie props now.

That's not helpful at all. What specifically do you mean? I was basing the colors and finishes of the waist bit off these photos:

The first photo has been my go-to for reference since it seems to be among the better well lit photos of the costume.

Preview of the chest armor. Getting pretty close to done with the repaint. Just have the gauntlets left to do and already have started on both. The silver around the neck may or may not be accurate. In some photos it looks silver, in others it simply looks a light heavy verdigris. I went with the silver just because I like the contrast.

the paint you made on groin and leg armor this time looks like old, time-weathered props in bad condition after decades of keeping, not like predator from the movie. a little too much light, yellow, brown, dusty. they should be darker and smoother. photos you posted later show it very well. pictures like posters are even more preferable for a reference of a movie predator i think.

Those don't really show anything. They're under colored lights with a lot of shadows… but even there, particularly in the first pic, you can tell the whole waist piece, aside from the armor on the left leg, is a flat medium brown. Regardless, while I am sourcing stuff to act as reference, I also am making aesthetic choices that I just prefer like the aforementioned silver detailing around the neck.

I don't mind critique in the least. I have been to art school and posted on plenty of art forums. I welcome critique and it's a big part of why I post stuff in the first place.

But, please try and make useful comments rather than just being a ****.

Eh I like your work personally. Gives your P2 more character in its own way. Keep up the good work:clap Also was it you who painted glow in the dark blood on your P2? Id like to try that myself, would be the first time I painted anything and seems great for a beginner. May I ask what paint and brush you recommend?

Took a pic of my P2 that I thought looked neat..Gonna experiment more when I get my TD mask.
