I'm still puzzled as to why they included that tacky alien weapon instead of the machine gun he actually uses in the film, which would have matched perfectly with his determined unmasked portrait.

Probably so that Cap and Widow could provide weapon extra options for the upcoming Chitauri figure? Either that or this is more a "final battle" Cap. Which would make sense, given that Thor also has his arm sleeves armor.

I think ive settled on my steve rogers display and it lets me have both shields out:

As for his price, considering im paying close to the same price for bane who has only a coat and shirt and broken bat mask id say two shields two heads and the gun are nice to make the price easier to accept. The alien gun makes sense for the scene where he cuts the chitauris arm off and takes it granted its quick but its there and its visually more interesting than a standard machine gun. One thing i liked about avengers was that he actively didnt use a gun anymore.

Freak'n sweet, I'll probably steal that pose.

After 70 years of being in cryonic sleep (read 10 months of being pre-ordered),
the Capcicle was finally discovered by the Avengers! :panic:

Fully paid the figure months earlier, felt like I was picking up a free
figure at the local shop. :yess:

First unit I inspected had a crooked star, store keeper was happy to replace it for me
(he wasn't very much surprised by the crooked star).
Second one had no problems. :blissy

It's always nice to be able to inspect a figure before getting it.
That's why I stay away from ebay or online shops as much as
possible.

It is a crooked star surely? I thought that the crooked 'A' was TFA:CapA.

The ClipperKing posted a Youtube video that covers a the star in more detail, but I have never actually seen a crooked star myself yet either.

I find Cap (all versions) the hardest to display. I love having his shield on show because it's iconic, but I hate that it covers up a lot of the costume. (If you display it decently)

Well it's a shield afterall :lol

In that case, I think the best way to display cap would be to put him
on a rotating plate.

cap arrived yesterday!

and there was much rejoicing...

Congrats! Captain America has reached Philippine shores over
the weekend. :hi5:

...And it begins. Checked out my figure this morning and the shield is showing the first signs of the cracking/flaking of the red color on the shield. You can see it when you look at it from an angle - minute cracks forming in the clear coat of the red. It's called "crazing" and will eventually lead to the red flaking off a couple of months down the road.

Obviously, Hot Toys learned nothing from the Captain America :First Avenger figure and simply repeated the process. Has ANYONE had any success repainting the shield? Yes, I know it also came with a battle-damaged shield - I gave it to the First Avenger figure. I want at least ONE of my Caps to have a minty-clean shield.

Noticed this on the edges of mine also. Would a Tamiya Clear Coat Spray help delay this flaking? Was thinking a semi gloss or gloss. It would not damage the paint would it?

My worry would be that the paint would continue to deteriorate underneath the clear coat and eventually cause bubbles or something. Although I won't be buying Cap, I am really curious if the process can be stopped. Also feel for those with this predicament. Everyone in this hobby appreciates detail, so I can imagine how annoyed I'd be to see a pristine shield start flaking.
