One is DX12 - seems to only just be arriving in the UK after the US has had him since October time.

Other is Mark VII - probably be August before I get him.

Is the BATTLE DAMGE shield painted and not electroplated like the hero shield?.

Its a flat matt dull finish rather than the glossy finish so maybe not but its like the back of the slate black iphone 5's which do use a kind of electroplating so maybe it is.. not sure

Quite happy how it turned out, much prefer the semi gloss than the overly glossy look it orginally had. Now hopefully it will preserve the paint work

Still working on Steve Rogers figure...does anybody know if there is a 1/6 uniform that would work for a custom Steve Rogers ? Anyone make one based on the First Avenger Military Uniform? His dress uniform in the bar?

I just uses Tamiya TS-79 semi gloss clear. a 100ml spray can

Gently wiped down the shield first with a damp clean cloth. Dried it, then applied once thin coat and left it for two hours. Applied a second thicker coat, not too think. Then left over night.

It still has a shine but is more matted down and does not reflect your face anymore

Why I did this was not to restore the shield, it was a preventive measure to stop the shield flaking and as a bonus to reduce some of the high gloss it had. Once it starts flaking I doubt you can restore it accurately unless you strip the shield of all the paint and start from scratch, so if you are concerned about the shield paint flaking off, a clear coat on top may make the paint last longer. All I know is mine started flaking off only after a week of displaying the shield around the edges and I wanted to prevent this getting worse.

I plan on having the avengers line for quite some time, so i want to make sure they last as long as possible.

I ordered mine from Goodshipped as well, it arrived on Wednesday, so he's getting them in now

I can honestly say I've never had any trouble with him, so it may be that he's got a big back order to fill? Rest assured though, he's getting them in!

I've mentioned this many times before, but I'm always glad for little delays, gives me time to get the pennies together.

Now that Thor appears to be making the rounds, I expect I'll be getting an email in the next few weeks or so for the rest of the payment

yeah its the non battle damaged, formerly very glossy one

looks great! I just applied the final coat to mine about an hour ago. going to give it until late tonight before fiddling with it but right now it's looking pretty good
