i just hope that when final production figure comes around the suit is slightly tighter but still gotta get figure infront of my avengers

I care more about articulation than the suit fitting skin tight. I'm afraid that if the do tighten the suit this one could have very limited articulation just like the first release.

When you look at the old Kirby drawings of Cap there were lots of wrinkles and creases in fabric giving the feel of a looser fit. I prefer looser to skin tight.

There are ways to achieve both. I'm a very pro articulation collector, but if I don't care to have something because it's doesn't look as good as it should.

Granted his outfit is just tights but Reeves is beautiful and nothing hinders articulation. In some screen shot it look like sections of Caps uniform could be spandex or a some kind of thin Stretch blend of fabric so considering how that could tranlate into 1/6 scale perhaps a thicker than typical stretch material could be used on this and still allow for plenty articulation. For that matter they could use the reeves body to help the shoulders area as well.

Exactly! I think they used the wrong material anyways, the large stitches look like a cheap version. Its all about scale and accuracy, meaning no huge real zippers and stitches.

People are comparing it to the film accuracy. It looks goofy because it is way too loose on him. If people wanted a general Captain America figure they wouldn't have to pay $200 for one, they could buy an ultimate figure or something. Its the high price that HT is charging that justifies in their minds accuracy and realism, it says in their product statement. I would say in this case, it failed. I wish there was more competition and Marvel wasn't so damn weird about their licenses that would allow other manufacturers to put out some quality figures too. Its always healthy for an industry to have good competition. If nobody ever complained and we all acted like fanboys the quality would never improve.

:clap:clap:clap You speak my mind, ThorsThunder. :clap:clap:clap

I too hope for some revisions before it is released too. I just look at HT R&B Spiderman. There were issues with the suit, feet eyes etc. And HT went and addressed those issues. So hopefully they will do the same with this too.

Tighter suit equals less articulation...

Once the figure is posed the suit will be pulled tight and wil look just fine. If you just want the suit to fit cap when he stands straight up then maybe you shouldn't be buying hot toys...

Whether we get the USO version this year or not, the only thing I need to get is one of the Chris Evans headsculpts to throw on TFA fig. The Avengers version would be cool if I didn't have TFA figure (which to me is still a decent fig regardless of the Avengers version coming out). No point in spending $215 on another version of Cap. Limited space and the funds can go towards one of the other Avengers (Hulk, Hawkeye, or Fury).

I don't know if anyone has already photoshopped this on here (too lazy to scroll through 78 pages) but here's a little photoshopped image. Hopefully it make the costume a little more screen accurate.
Don't get me wrong, I love the figure and I'm still going to get it.

Nice work on the photoshop! A great example of what I imagined it should look like. It shows much better just simply standing and with the right material wouldnt hinder articulation.:goodpost:

It looks much better retouched here. The only other problem I really see is the shoulders almost look padded or rounded and the star in the actual film photo.

The more I look at the figure, the better it looks. I still can't justify the price though.

Why not? Shouldnt HT look good in ANY pose? Especially a standard straight up static pose (which, lets face it, the standard pose MOST collectors display their figures in).

Saying "maybe you shouldn't be buying hot toys" because a figure doesnt look "right" standing up is pure none sense.

Look at the HT Spider-man, He looks great in ANY pose. Same goes for HT Superman.

So if they didnt look right in a stand up pose, we should just eat it and NOT collect those figures??? Seems kinda bogus to me...:dunno:dunno:dunno

That's not what I said. I said it shouldn't only look good standing straight up. If the figure can't move because the clothes are too tight then whats the point of buying it over a statute? My point is that I'd rather have the clothes look a bit loose when the figures is standing straight up if it means it will be able to achieve all kinds of dynamic poses.

Not all figures can have spandex like spider man and supes...

Oh I see what youre saying now. I agree. Id rather have a looser fit to the suit so I can get better poses than a tight fit and restricts the poses. Thats what I dont like about the current TFA Cap. I really wanted to be able to put him in more poses than I could, so Im happy that HT is giving us that option with this release.
