Will definitely buying Mr. Goofy CA to complete my CA collection, but not as eager as i want him on hand. More bias on the first issue still.

After pondering over some movie stills while giving this suit a second chance, and after looking at the HT promo picks. I've concluded the movie suit is the lesser of the 2 goofies.

Likely because it cost more than $215 to produce. :lol

Now that I think of it. I see a lot of Super Dave Osbourne.

Darth Con I agree, It does feel like they are basing the price on the demand of the character/franchise and not the content itself. Especially when you compare to something like New Goblin figure, which had almost same amount of stuff. 2 head sculpts, weapons, 2 pairs of hands, large base and a light up feature. All for less than Cap. And this was just last September

:dunno

To be fair, the 2 sculpts for Cap are pretty complex while Goblin's has a mask covering the facial features.

Also the shield material might be a tad more expensive but I still don't agree with the price. I feel like they're just riding on the fact that people will assemble the team regardless of the price.

I really want to like this figure, but I don't. I think the outfit looks silly. Also, captain America should be very muscular, maybe the outfit makes him look skinny. But over all the figure's suit looks cheap and have too many crease. And the angry face looks funny. :rotfl

Now I know what it reminds me of. CA suit reminds me off something from the movie kickass.:nana:

I think I figured out their formula for the price increases.

Popular movie (new or old) + Licensing + Howard Cheng's Ferrari payment + Knowing Jye4ever will pay alot for all Avengers figures = $400.00 1/6 Avengers Hulk that comes with nothing extra other than half a pair of pants.

Congrats; you just figured out Hot Toys business model.:clap

The more posts i read, the more i feel as though i'm part of a very small minority that actually likes this costume. I dunno if it's because people are over thinking it or what, but for me, it's a comic book film and he looks like a comic book character

It doesnt bother me if producers go for realism or comic-booky (not even a word) - i just like it to fit into the context of the movie, from what's been shown so far, this suit does that

Which is why i also love the TFA suit because it fit the context of that movie and looked awesome! Whereas with Spiderman, although i have no problems design wise with Raimi's or Webb's, i just don't think they look like a kid made them, so then it doesn't really fit the movie and it always pulled me out of spiderman for that reason. They should have gone the Ultimate route where the costume is made for him professionaly

Anyway, i rattled on pointlessly there. I like this suit, i like the figure, he will be mine!

And i'm watching the Avengers on Thursday! Twice! One after the other!

You are not alone, my friend. I too think HT did a solid job on the suit as well. Bought.:hi5:

I'm with you 2 also. Its not the best ever made, but far from the worst. I like the outfit and think the HS is pretty close. I think HS expectations are a bit unrealistic here. If.course they do a better job on some, but this is way better than Thor, BW and many others. IMO.

:goodpost:

It likely cost around the same to produce, but they know they can charge more and people will pay it, licensing fees is a poor rationalisation (see Fury/Hawkeye) it's pure and simple pushing the price as far as they can to see what people will pay
