Sorry if I'd offend some, but hopefully HT can see this. Adonminal part too long, flat chest & narrow shoulder. :(

Wow difference here is really bugging me! This very pic of the real Evans is the reason why I waited for the Avengers version seeing some potential of a cool fig. But the way HT has executed this look paired with the high price mark up, yea, Im not going to get this at all. Ill wait for their inevitable Cap America 2 figure.

The more I look at this the more I wish that Marvel would update Cap's costume in the comics to look more like this. It is time for pirate boots and chainmail to go!!

I keep stressing because I am liking this HT version (I said earlier the FA would be my Cap) but that price.....even at CSC prices no way could I justify paying 200 bucks for a fig...this bums me out.

This pic is just insane to me. Totally looks like Evans standing there in the suit!

Admittedly, the suit does seem to be looser on this figure that perhaps it aught to be. Hopefully this may be something HT takes on board before the actual production runs.

Despite this, this to me is Captain America. It captures enough of the 'War Bonds' classic suit - ie as he was in the classic comics - the white on the arms, the red and white on the abs, the A on the helmet, the red boots and gloves, the star...it's all there.

I am not sure really what people actually want from a Captain America figure..? For those that say it looks goofy, well he's a costumed superhero and to a greater or lesser degree they all look a bit goofy.

...a man who dresses as 6ft bat in order to frighten his enemies, anyone? And this from a mega BATMAN fan.

They definitely didn't do the shoulders right, nor did they use the right type of material to match this uniform, and are the bottom of his boots black? Along with very bad likeness to Evans, I wouldn't buy this figure.

Seriously, maybe this is the closest they could get to the one used in the film. It is not always possible to get everything exact. I have several 007 BMW Z8 and Aston Martin DB12 Vanquishes die-casts in various scales and I can tell you that in some, the metallic particles in the silver paint are just too big for the size of car.

But as to the masked HS, I think this is spot on, it's the other one that has been executed poorly.

That would be a lot of rework though and I don't think HT is that humble to fix it all.

They should use a thick Lycra matieral like slighty heavier than what they used for superman. Maybe sow some soft shoulder pads in place. Fix the torso proportion. And definelty tweak or totally re-do that unmasked head.

People are comparing it to the film accuracy. It looks goofy because it is way too loose on him. If people wanted a general Captain America figure they wouldn't have to pay $200 for one, they could buy an ultimate figure or something. Its the high price that HT is charging that justifies in their minds accuracy and realism, it says in their product statement. I would say in this case, it failed. I wish there was more competition and Marvel wasn't so damn weird about their licenses that would allow other manufacturers to put out some quality figures too. Its always healthy for an industry to have good competition. If nobody ever complained and we all acted like fanboys the quality would never improve.

i just hope that when final production figure comes around the suit is slightly tighter but still gotta get figure infront of my avengers

I have to agree with this statement. Most times I never notice the issues on figures until someone else brings them up. And when they get fixed by HT (in some cases) I benefit even though I'm not as nitpicky as some folks.

Unless the complaint is in the form of a no-sale, it won't be noticed.

In the end I have to choose if I want to pay and exorbitant price or if I want the figure.

If enough people complain about something and if the folks at HT consider it a strong enough factor, they will fix it.

Thus, I hope they fix that unmasked head and the torso/shoulders that was brought up. That unmasked head is a no sale from me.

But if they don't fix it, eh, I'll just wait for the next one. No big deal. Hot Toys has definitely taught me patience LOL. Can't have anything immediately anymore!

After a great amount of thought, and calling one of my buddies, I choose to buy TFA Cap...This new figure is a fail in everyway. The sculpt, the accessories, the price... and I don't know why but the costume looks like crap. Evans looks awesome in the film, but this figure looks like ten kinds of NOT awesome. Epic fail Hot Toys.
I just did the same thing! I'm not quite as down on this look as you are but I prefer the more military look of TFA as oppssed to the costume look of the Avengers. I do like the beat up shield but will gladly wait for Cap 2 to see how they hopefully  change the uniform closer to TFA look.

Well this movie is getting great reviews ign gave it a 4.5 out of 5 and the tomatoe meter at rotten tomatoes is at 96 percent.

There should be no pressure for this figure...you KNOW there will be something like 4 more Caps to come.
