make him hunch forward and be a brute then let's talk. don't like a ____-erectus on steroids.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I'm honestly not that impressed. About what was expected. I don't think anyone who looks at my collection would be floored by looking at Hulk... they'll think he's a toy.

:cuckoo:

That'll likely be because it is a toy, albeit an expensive one.

If you're that bothered about what other people think you're probably better off not buying it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Was using it as a example.

Any argument that involves justifications of it being a "toy" are moot. We don't buy these because they're supposed to look like play things.

Just saying it came out as expected. Was hoping more. And something this plain shouldn't cost over $300.

Do you play with these things?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I'm hoping for a reasonable price too, at most this is just a bigger painted TT body with a pair of pants.

Of course not but all the _____ing about visible joints and it looking like a toy is getting a little bit old and it seems as if HT are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

If they'd made Hulk with all the joints exposed they'd have been wrong, if they'd have gone for a full rubber body they'd have been slammed as soon as the rubber started tearing and I wonder just what people DO want?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

You know... it might help if the body looked like skin and not plastic.

Their Bruce Lee bodies are pretty great in this regard.

Can't talk for dominishin since I don't know what he was referring to when he said so. Personally I think it looks great.

I hope they include sculpted and articulated arms, I'm not into visible joints (though I have some figures with visible joints, it's not a big deal for me) and I know Hot Toys does their best to avoid them because they make realistic collectibles, not toys. Don't think they should have gone the rubber route either because as you say it would only break down sooner or later. I will be pleased with this figure if they include those extra arms.

You'll have to elaborate further. What's the difference? Besides one has green skin?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I don't like the way they did the arm joints, the clean cut/separation straight down near the arm sockets/chest stands out too much for me and I fully understand the 'toy' references being made.

I think I'll order one though.

Any pictures of it from the side or the back?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

...HT are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Whilst the general consensus dictates that it should either "be one thing or the other"...HT have achieved that miraculous third option, in that it's neither?!

What they will do with HULK's legs is moot because they are mainly covered by his trousers anyway, it's his upper body that is in question here, and it is neither 'exposed articulation' not 'rubber-covered articulation'. He seems to have some movement at the shoulder, no movement at the elbow and wrists, indeed not even swap-out hands either. This is not good for and extraordinarily expensive action figure.

Sadly at the moment HULK seems to be neither proverbial '...fish, nor ornament' I am beginning to suspect that HT may have totally dropped the ball with this figure.

I was holding off from ordering AMAZING SPIDERMAN because I was waiting for IM:VII and the HULK reveals. Now whilst the IM:VII is really fantastic and is a 'Must Buy' for me, HULK is in no way the same category.

So good old Spidey might slide back into my plans, if the full and official reveal of the HULK exposes and confirms all the fears there already seem to be with the figure, eg that it's basically a statue and not an action figure.

...so Andy may indeed be standing next to my two Tobeys sooner than I initially thought...we'll see.

it definitely has swap out hands at least

Really? Do you think..?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

It's be good if the rubber hid the shoulder joints, they stand out too much for me, but then there's the chance of "the rubber" issues.
Hellboy looks fantastic, thought they'd do that style with this.

Yeah, but you dont get much articulation with the full rubber body like Hell Boy. The cut shoulders makes sense with this one.

This pic makes me think of Godzilla. Look at those tiny cars
