Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Welcome to SSF's Hulk. Yeah I think most of us are set to be blown away come release time.

I just need to know where i'm gonna display the beast :lol

I'm hoping to display mine in a fighting pose with the new amazing Spiderman, sort of like the Sideshow Spidey VS Hulk diorama. Will be the closest thing we get to the actual thing playing out on screen for some time unfortunately.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

:lol I'd hate to admit it but I think Hulk would own that fight :D

Well, as was said in Avengers, if you try to make the other guy eat a bullet, he'll just spit it out. Hell, he took a barage of laser shots from the Chitauri and barely got a scratch.

I think the most fair superhero fight with Hulk would be against Wolverine, they both have super healing ability so neither can die.

Is it me or does it look neckless? See the seam? :slap

Yup, who knows why, but definitley looks like a line formed to plan for it, interesting to see that the cut is planned in the raw sculpt stage.

Could be a Mark Ruffalo, Banner HS:panic: just needs the bangs showing to the left side of the head :panic:

It's Christian Bale, the nose is a giveaway.

Hollywoods gotta make that happen next :wink1:

I actually just re-watched Hulk Vs Wolverine this morning after I finished s.2 of the animated X-men.

Well, I believe form interviews with Kevin Feige of Marvel regarding Avengers, Wolverine and Spidey are under the control of movie studios where Marvel's got the full rights to Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. Yes Wolverine's Marvel's property but the studio probably has some say too.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

That head sculpt down the bottom looks kind of like Bruce Banner but I may be wrong and think that girl in the second work station is working on Black Widow's head sculpt.

I hope those studios who got wolverine and spidey work out a deal to get them for the avengers :thud:

Fox = Wolverine, X-Men, Fantastic Four
Sony = Spider-Man

The rest are kind of confusing to me, but those I know. I highly doubt they'd let the characters be used for other studios films, or that Disney would pay what would be required to use them.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

But Disney has master ownership of the characters. I don't know what rights Fox and Sony have, something, but in the end, the characters are Disney/Marvel property licenses to the studios. I'd be very interested to know what the relationship is like, Kevin spoke about it like it wasn't as good a situation as the Avengers characters that Marvel's got full control over.

I know :( i just wanna see both wolverine and spidey in the avengers :(

Imagine RDJ Tony Stark and Hugh Jackman Wolverine fighting, a battle of wits and a physical match.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

I like Hugh's Wolverine at Fox. Marvel Studios would never let him drop an F bomb. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

It's a licensing thing yeah, but basically Disney is SOL until the license lapses or they buy it back, which they've basically made clear they don't care as they have enough characters.

:drool that would be great watching those two fighting(has these two fight in the comics? And who won?) and yeah, like others want to see wolverine vs hulk, or spiderman vs hulk would be epic too

Yeah, heads that fit on the figure they come with. Wouldn't really be able to put a tiny Banner head on a full Hulk body without it looking stupid

Not entirely true. T-1000 Sarah was a female figure and came with the donut hole police T-1000 head.

Basically, the deals with Fox and Sony aren't great for Marvel. They were made when Marvel wasn't exactly at a high point and needed cash. My understanding is that Fox and Sony have the rights to properties like X-men, Fantastic Four and Spider-man indefinitely unless they stop making the films. Then, after a certain amount of time the movie rights would revert fully back to Marvel .

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - The Avengers: HULK

Ya I remember Marvel was filing for bankruptcy around early 2000, it was all over the news back then. It involves a rich guy buying out Marvel, then essentially taking out all the money from the company and leaving it to rot. The dude made a profit doing that while Marvel ended up in bankruptcy.

What's left of Marvel could have been simply old memories from the past, like something that's been lost in history. Luckily they were able to sell Spiderman and X-men movie rights to get out of bankruptcy, otherwise they were a goner.

Only realistic way for Marvel to get back those movie rights is to buy them back at a higher price, now that they are doing well again and has Disney's support. I don't think Sony and Fox would just casually let those licenses expire without renewing them after spending all those money to acquire them in the first place, they definitely want something in return.
