i'm just going to say i'm perfectly happy with my classic scar in taylerdurdem's mask after seeing this proto. i heard some where they r making 1/4 versions as well?

The "1/4" comes from HT's teaser they released over a year ago:

But they have yet to announce officially which will be the first to get the 1/4 treatment.

Why would they bother with the Super predators dreads?

The dreads they used for this Scar is just a variation on the one they used on Classic:

Variations, but they're not the same. Can't reuse molds if the sculpts are different which means they're not trying to cut financial corners that way. So I'm assuming you mean they're attempting to lower costs with shorter dreads by using less rubber. Which, again, would make such a small difference that I highly doubt even HT would succumb to doing it.

Again, that's only my best "guess". I couldn't tell you what goes on in the minds at HT.

What I do know, is that the short dreads on this figure are so blatantly obvious, it wasn't an inaccuracy that was overlooked.

Yeah. Didn't mean to come across as hostile (apologies if that's how it was). My point was that HT already overlooks every other inaccuracy in their Predator figures so it's not hard to believe they'd do the same here.

Either way, just placed my PO at Sideshow. Gonna search for eBay deals on EB's new T-800 in the morning and that'll be it for collectible orders... for now. If they put up their Batman Returns figs, I'll be in trouble unless I can sell something.

Well clearly, there is a hatred for Tsang whenever he gets his hands on a predator job, but I don't believe for a second that he looked at reference material and thought the dreads on his Scar figure was at it's correct length.

I never bought the predator model kit figures. They were nice for the time, but something just said no to me. I'm so glad I passed on them because IMO these "2.0"? versions look awsome! Thanks Hot Toys for offering these figures once again.

To be honest, I don't want HT to re-do every Predator again. They should stick to the main predators from every movie, and not get lost in doing Elders, Ancients and already done members of the Lost tribe.

Took me about 5 seconds after I got the email to immediately pre-order. For me I am extremely excited about Hot Toys doing (at least I hope they redo all the AVP Predator Lineup) 1/6 scale Predator lineup. I was not a collector when the first versions came out and just could not justify paying 1k plus on a cheap Hot Toys figure in order to have some of the AVP Predators.
I really hope they do Celtic Predator this is the one in particular that I have always wanted. I am going to have very many 1/6 scale Predators which is just fine with me.

I wouldn't sell Tracker unless you have to. I don't know why his price is so low either. He's definately a cooler figure than Royce.

I'm looking foward to having this scar in my collection too. Maybe put him on a shelf with original scar just to show comparisons.

Edit: after looking at more photos I think mgbb should cast his custom pred waist parts. They would make this figure pop!

Awesome pictures. The head sculpt with closed mandibles is kind of odd looking, but still very nice indeed. So now I can't wait to receive the City Hunter and this one now. I just wish the wait list on new figures from Hot Toys did not have to be so long.

I actually like the closed mandible look. It's the open one that throws me off because his mouth is still closed. But I never pose these newer preds with open mandibles anyway because of the knee articulation. I can't picture a predator roaring without that low animalistic pose.

Could it be possible that his hair is shorter being he is younger?
