Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Sorry I haven't followed this thread closely but I have a couple of questions about the scale of this figure, I have seen a few photos of this next to other figures and it seems to be extremely large, out of scale large. My question is the Jor-El figure scale well with the superman or is it just the MOS that is that large?

I tried my best. The cuffs hardly fits, he has some huge hands haha

The black neck ring is bothering me greatly. It looks movie accurate on the proto. Not sure why the hell would HT want to make it so much thicker in the final product. The rest of the figure is fantastic but the thicker neck ring is sticking out like a sore thumb.

:lecture It looks terrible. They should have least painted the lower part of it blue to match the suit if there was some reason it needed to be that thick.

It could be thicker more for functional reasons than visual/movie accuracy.

On some of the prototype photos (of the actual product at various shows, not the promotional photos) you could see that the neck ring was stretching and bending out of shape and even pulling/tearing the suit fabric as well.

It could be that Hot Toys made the neck ring bigger and thicker to accommodate for both holding to the suit and supporting the cape. Someone who has the figure could probably explain this better if its true.

As for the inaccurate color..who knows. Could be a rush thing that Hot Toys did and overlooked it or could be that the plastic couldn't hold the proper coloration and retain its strength. Sometimes when you add different compounds to plastics, it in essence "weakens" it...which is why you see some plastics are typically molded in one or two colors only and then painted over. Why couldn't HT paint it? I don't know. That's my best guess...

The only very little flaw on mine is a pleat on the collar of the cape but ull have to look very very close to spot it. It didnt get turned under all the way so its not actually pleated correctly....will photo that also. Im kinda ocd aboit thesethings so it didnt take me long 2 find it. Easy 9 out of 10 figure
