Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I went and checked mine, and yes indeed: I had the arms down, and to lift them I had to sort of peel the sleeve away from the torso. No harm was done, but people need to be aware of this issue. I'm pretty disappointed, to be honest, figures as expensive as these need to not be this fragile.

He looks fine with his arms held away from his body, but that's not the point. The point is, these suits need not to melt by just standing around. Zod better not be this fragile.

It's a ****ing joke!

Awesome pic! Where did you get the image of the safe for the backdrop?

I just took a 1080p still I found online of the scene where Superman gets knocked into the vault. I cropped the still and displayed it full-screen on my monitor, and then I positioned the figure in front of the monitor and in front the on-screen version of Henry Cavill to cover him up. Any bits of the on-screen Superman that the figure couldn't cover up was then photoshopped out (a bit of the healing brush and the clone stamp tool).

For lighting I used a desk lamp and the LED light from my iPhone lol... and the rest is just playing around with lighting and saturation in photoshop along with a little graininess added.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread but I should have my Supes soon and I was wondering what this issue with the suit sticking together was? thanks.

Some people have it, some don't.
The rubber overlay can stick to each other if the conditions are right.
It hasn't happened to mine yet.

Thanks pal. :hi5:

So basically just keep an eye on it.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

That's what I'd say.
I have mine in an arms tight to the body pose and it's hasn't happened to mine.
if you are doing extreme posing, pose it, take pics and return to a more static pose.

Yeah this guy will remain in a 'museum' pose for me. I will not even use the stock stand for him due to worrying about the suit so I will just use a standard HT stand for him.

Thanks for the tips Bar.

Oh I forgot to ask if I just used the stock stand to display my Supes (not left in a flying pose, museum pose) would there still be a chance that it would damage the suit?

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Cool... thanks.
I am actually developing backdrops for all my figures. Have a printing company that gives me a great price. I am also adding LED lighting to some. Especially to simulate building lights and windows. Will be positioning the buildings in layers to give 3D effect. Once the first prototype is done, I may offer up a few to those who may be interested.

The sticking of the suit might probably happen to collectors who are living in a tropical or humid country. It happened to mine during a warm climate. I posted a picture about a week ago.

Of course.
I am just saying that will not be an issue here in Scotland.

My house is climate-controlled at all times, not to mention its the beginning of April - its not like a heat-wave out there. House is very cool.

Don't let HT off the hook like that, by blaming the victims. :wink1:

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

True! But I must admit I do try keep the figures out of direct sunlight.

Bri

Mine are on the east wall of a room with a south facing window, but only see direct sunlight in winter months for a period of about 30 minutes a day tops.
During the summer months the sun being a lot higher, it only catches the bottoms of the detolfs.
We are about to put our house on the market and i have my fingers crossed for a dedicated room for my detolfs in the new house. If i can get maybe a 4 metre by 4 metre room, i can get a great display going on.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

It is is so insane to me that they released this figure with just that one ridiculous bendable stand. If you want a flying pose he has to barely be off the ground or it wont fit in a detolf because of his height and if you don't want a flying post you have to bend it in a way that makes the cape not fall cleanly and the clamp potentially damages the suit. I can't get over it.
