Come on - that's the SSC dream sculpt.
The reality one will look like Team America.

For SW, SSC has been delivering final results very close to their prototypes. That sculpt is also not using the separate eye plate system which has been the source of some recent production issues. And better the final be slightly different and workable, than the sculpt be doomed from the start.

If SS can deliver that Luke sculpt, the whole thing turns around.

Supposedly this Luke won't have the eye system, Sideshow is looking at other factories to handle making the heads and in the meantime some heads won't have the system. I hope they do away with it completely, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen.

But if Luke can have the same quality of paint work as the Hoth figures with cleanly done eyes I think we'd have a winner. Still not worth $240, but at least it should be worth the pick up once they rot in the warehouse for awhile

I'll be making a dash for a loose sculpt if HT pull another Hank Solo or Bruce Kenobi with their Farmboy Luke.

I must say I have no reason to expect a Luke sculpt that's any better than what's been offered as Hank and Len. Which honestly I think are fine. Not exact little replicas, no, but like I said before... HT is the last great 1/6th manufacturer and I see no competition in the near future, so like it or not this is it for ANH.

Yes, I wish they were better. But no, I'm not disappointed that I have the chance to get all the New Hope heroes in one fell swoop all made together and all of the same quality for unity sake.

Actually from a still of the trailer it doesn't look much like that... but it does appear to be leather. So like all modern reincarnations we trade in fabrics for leather
