I have a very good feeling about this. Time to upgrade the old Death Star diorama to be worthy of displaying these 2....(years from now anyway). Plenty of time. Is it May 4th yet?

I *REALLY* want a farmboy Luke in my collection, so I'm praying nightly to the plastic gods that Hot Toys pull off one of their 1 in 50 miracles and get a really great head sculpt on this one.

Well they at least appear to have nailed the chin, so if they screw up the rest just leave the blast shield on!

That would require a completely different diorama and then I'd be stuck without a use for Old Ben's table and the Leia holo that ships with R2.

Hope this is a deluxe release with a free Landspeeder.

I almost hate to say it.. but I'm expecting the same level of facial accuracy with these as the past ones.

That's frightening... and TRUE. I can see this happening on Disney Channel -- a complete reimagining with young Disney kids. And they'd literally use a big Muppet for Chewbacca.




Truth is, it won't be long before Disney does in fact re-do the Lucas-world of Star Wars to better fit its own brand.

I'd scrap every detail of the PT and start the trilogy with Anakin as an adult. No Padme/Amidala character either. Luke's mother would be a one-night stand.

Hopefully the HT sculpt comes out as good as this one from Sideshow's Red 5 Pilot Luke.

My main complaint about Episode I was it was too much like a Disney movie. Funny how things come round...

That's true. But Star Wars always had a "magical" quality that was usually associated with Disney. It's just that Disney was so dead and unhip at the time SW came out -- and Lucas and Spielberg basically supplanted Disney as the men who brought you "modern fantasies". But I'll bet there's lots of kiddies that thought when they were young that the PT was in fact a Disney movie.

Hopefully the chicken pox look is toned down a bit.

Either way, between SS Red 5, HT Farmboy, and maybe a slight variation on HT Stormtrooper disguise, all our ANH Luke's will be finished shortly. Can't see HT wasting their time on the Ceremony version, but fingers will be crossed.
