You know I’m starting to think I won’t part with the Mark 6 either. There’s something about. Probably doesn’t help that it was my first Diecast Iron Man. I figured I would sell it now that I have the 7 and 85 with BD85 parts as well as the Mk3 2.0 on order. But I just can’t seem to pull the trigger on listing it for sale
Ones I will never sell:

Mark 1, 3, 6, 7 and 85.

Key suits in solid movies.

*sigh*

How long do you think Popcultcha Australia will receive their shipment? I have got this on pre-order for some time now. You are making me jealous.

Just ordered mine as well, Gunna try to pay off next month.

I was sad I missed it years ago, so I ordered this and the mark 85 BD this month to make sure I didn’t have any regrets.

I hope they reissue the mark 6 like this, with the base and all same accessories. I loved that figure, was sad I had to sell it years ago.

I’m looking forward to armor wars, but this will probably be the most comic definitive war machine we get, but we shall see :)

Does anyone know at which armor Hot Toys adjusted the sculpts slightly taller, e.g., the difference btwn the first Mark 3 and all the later armors?

Mark 1-3 are the ones that are shorter than the rest. Although they fixed that with the most recent updated 2.0 (3.0?) Mark 3 that was announced. Mark 1 and 2 are still way shorter than the rest of the IM figures.

Got mine in today and wow he is heavy! Feels like the most diecast than any of the other iron man figures I have.

I was a little worried since Justin said the red eyes weren’t bright on his copy, but they seem to be pretty bright on mine thankfully. Maybe not blinding bright like the arc reactor, but they still had a nice glow, even in day time.

Love the Don Cheadle sculpt as well. I’ve always like the head inside the helmet type sculpts rather than a full, unhelmeted headsculpts. Wish HT (or even a 3rd party company) included one like that for regular Mk85. Even though his suit was nano tech, in both Avengers tower scene and at the compound before Hulk puts the gauntlet on, the mask slides down from the top of his head like the earlier suits.

Yea, even though I have a MK6, I wouldn’t mind a reissue. I bought mine used and the joints feel a little floppy, so it would be nice to get a brand new one with tighter joints and current paint tech for the RDJ sculpt. I also prefer the newer box design of just sliding out from the side with the black foam tray vs the two piece design of the original with the light gray foam tray.

I had to jog my memory a bit, but for the diecast era, I think it was this very War Machine figure that started the whole thing. The early diecast figures (from IM3 and AoU, plus the Mark III) still scaled well with the plastic figures, but the WM Mark I was a giant in comparison.

After the WM Mark I, the diecast releases of IM Marks IV through VII (I think Mark VI was the first) were where HT started rescaling the IM figures to be larger (maybe to match the War Machine). The only exceptions were the diecast Mark II (based on the original diecast Mark III) and the Mark I (based on the original plastic Mark I 2.0).

With the modern suits, I think the Mark XLVI/XLVII was comparable to the Mark XLV, which was itself bigger than the XLII/XLIII (but still in scale). So I believe the Mark L was where the modern armors became oversized to match the oversized classic armors (which makes less sense since those newer suits should be even smaller given the nanotech).

Yeah this checks out bc with my Mark 43 and Mark 50 side-by-side, the 43 is a bit shorter than the 50, while being only barely taller than the old Mark 2.

Really surprised this figure isn’t hotter right now. It really is his best armor and Armor Wars is the movie I’m most looking forward to.
HT couldn’t even add weathering to the gatling gun that was there on the original.

Plus fans are waiting for the 2 new armor reveals in AW!
