Couldn't agree more mate, there's a lot of people on this forum that want to complain about something - they can use any reason they want to find fault.
But I'm with you- it's your money and its upto you if you get it.
You don't have to justify it to anyone.
Lots of fuds on this forum suffering from repressed jealousy

I kinda can't agree with the jealousy part since Mei's spear can be had by anybody and you're talking about people that spend $220+ on figures so the money isn't the issue. I have Hulkbuster on preorder which is $800+ dollars I can afford a Mei spear. There may be other reasons but I don't think jealousy is one of them.

Yes, I am harboring incredible amounts of repressed jealousy because your toy's accessory is marginally more accurate than mine. Is there any more to my diagnosis Dr.Phil?

As I mentioned before, whether one can afford it or not isn't the issue; as Bjjer said, if we're all able to afford $220+ figures, I don't think $100 is a problem. To me, it's just the practicality aspect.

I have no doubt that the TM one is probably a little more detailed. But that's the key phrase: "a little more". At least from what I can see. So from my perspective, it just isn't practical to spend a lot more on something that offers a little more. For some, it is. For others, it's not very prudent. In fact, I'd actually say that the fact the Toys-Era/OSK one has a LED light up function while the TM one does not is probably a bigger difference than just the slight difference in fine detail between the two.

If one wants to spend $100 on a mere accessory because you think it will make your figure look just leaps and bounds better, then by all means, do it. It's your money. For myself, my Armored Bats will look just fine with a $35 Kryptonite spear accessory that is perhaps only a little bit less detailed than a $100 one. Heck, he looks fine as it is without a spear. Would I like for him to have a spear? Absolutely. Does he absolutely require a spear? To me, not for an extra $100.

A lot of HT sculpts go for $50+. I have the OSK heat vision sculpt that was $30 and it looks just as good as the HT one from what I can see.

Since when was the discussion about "repressed jealousy"?
Get off your high horse.

Considering that we are all in this forum, there is a certain level of income people here make to buy these figures....

It is more about justification.
As was mentioned, if you can afford it, fine, good for you.
I'm not sure why you're getting defensive about it, and condescending saying "This hobby isn't for everyone".

Others choose not to afford it because there is no practicality to it.

I have my Armored Batman coming im just not going to buy a spear, he didnt use it until he was battle damaged anyway. If HT makes a BD version with spear ill just buy the figure.

This explains a lot ^

Who's getting defensive again?

All i said was you don't have to justify it to anyone else?

Well to be fair, you did add/say more than merely only stating that one doesn't have to justify anything to anyone else. I think that's what people are referring to when they're replying to you stating that never once was the conversation about harboring any kind of repressed jealousy.

In terms of the TM spear being just "a little more detailed"... I guess time will tell. Can't wait for the toys era to be released to see their final version instead of the preview pics. I look forward to seeing people's pictures of their Toys Era spear.

I also had the OSK heat vision headsculpt, for me I was able to tell a difference between the HT sculpt. They were by far not the same. At least in my eyes.

To each their own.

Well if you feel the need to vet and compare the two, by all means, do so. Me personally, the only thing I would question myself on in that regard is why I feel the need to go back and compare mine with another one/other ones if I genuinely felt that I already had the best product on the market to begin with and paid what I feel it's worth. I'm personally comfortable with my choice so therefore, I see no reason to have to do any extreme vetting and comparing with others. To each their own though indeed. :duff

And yes, I noticed your spear in the same picture you posted earlier of your figure when doing comparison photos. Looks awesome. :clap

In any case, I think both spears look great. Lets all enjoy our toys/collectibles.

I'm still waiting for mine to ship so my Armored Bats is still in the box LOL.

Again, can't wait to see how much similar the Toys Era spear is =)
Nothing wrong with that. Especially with everyone saying they can't see a difference or how minor the differences will be.

Which is why they're not attempting to compare which one is better between the two, because they both look great. :duff

Exactly, just a matter of personal preference, a bit like this figure itself. Most just decide whether they prefer this regular or the black chrome and get that version. A minority feel the need to try and discredit or talk down the version they decide against for reasons I don't understand.

I don't think anyone can disagree that the Mei spear is superior in looks I just didn't go that route becasue when I inquired about it it was more than I wanted to spend and would come unpainted and as Im untalented in that area so would have to seek out a painter. I wish the OSK one looked like Mei's but it's whats available for the cheapos like me.

:exactly:

Mostly to convince themselves that they made the right choice, if I had to venture a guess. But if you already feel without a doubt that you made the right choice on something, then there should be no inclination nor urge to have to go back and convince and reassure yourself that you did.

There's an old saying that says insecure people try to make others feel smaller (discrediting, talking down, condescension), while confident people love to see others walk taller (encouraging, talking up).

Being pragmatic isn't being cheap, in my opinion. You pay for what you feel something is worth.
