Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

I wish people would lay of the "this is the definitive/best version" stuff. There's going to be a handful more Evans Cap figures chances are. Let's not crown every figure the best. Lol

So far, from best to worst:

1. AOU - Both sculpts are perfect renditions of Evans' face. Costume is great too and has the proper Evans V-shape. Just a stellar figure. 10/10

2. TWS Stealth - Perfect sculpts but poor body. Costume is great but sadly diminished by subpar body. 8.5/10

4. Civil War - Masked sculpt + plates fail to capture Evans but unmasked sculpt is perfect. Costume is great and proportions look good so far (prototype). 8.5/10

4. TFA - The sculpt isn't quite there yet but the body and costume are spot-on. Figure's a bit short though. 8/10

5. Avengers (2012) - Decent sculpts and good body proportions but less than stellar costume design (not HT'S fault) 8/10

6. GA Cap (2014) Awful sculpt and puffy costume over oddly proportioned body. 6/10

Looks like the magnet shield got axed.

He doesn't appear to use it in the film, so the figure reflects that. The magnetic shield wasn't a newly developed universal method by HT to attach Cap's shield to his arm that they were going to continue using on future figures; it was simply intended to emulate his magnetic shield in AoU. He goes back to using a shield with straps in CW, so the figure is wielding a shield with straps.

I still like the AoU costume the best so far but I have a feeling Im going to really enjoy the movie and buy it despite being so similar to AoU.

It won't fall off like Mr Potato Head will it??.. :thud:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

I'm not sure how they would have done it, but it would have been kind of cool if the Avengers "A" logo on each shoulder was removable.

Possibly. Magnetic, perhaps?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

Maybe they could go down the Robot Chicken route.. ;)

The main character gets a cheap rehash? Lazy HT. Lazy.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

That would work better than velcro and allow the sleeve to be plain. Though they would prob use cheap magnets that fall apart after a week or so.

I personally would take them off anyway. But making them removable with the option of having them on or off would at least be a win-win for both sides.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Captain America Collectible Figure

Congrats! :hi5:

This reminds me of the BvS promo pics. I wasn't that impressed initially but I came around after seeing the prototypes at Toy Soul. We need to see these CW protos at a convention, pronto.
