People can list things for whatever they want, but whether anyone will pay that... that's the more important part.

I just looked into evil bay and someone has put this up for $400 USD!!! Wow!
Yeo, and they're just SSC orders :lol :slap

My advice for anyone wanting one is to jump on the waitlist and wait for a conversion and DON'T PANIC
Only a few weeks after the shipping date should you focus on getting it secondary, but some can get conversions up to a year after I hear

My guess is there are two more chances for conversions. The first will be when CW SW goes up for preorder. Whole bunch of conversions there. The second will be once this figure starts shipping and people can't pay for her. After that, I don't see there being too many more. I don't think the year thing applies here because there won't be anyone paying on her that far from now. There's no flexpay option unless you were one of the few who ordered her in those first few hours.

Mine converted in the initial batch and I tried to turn it into a flexpay and was unsuccessful. Now I haven't had time to call sideshow and straight ASK them to do it for me yet but when I do, I intend to try.

The one I don't understand is Avengers Loki. It is my most saught after 'out of stock' figure... but I just don't understand why it above all other MCU figures of it's era attracts the price it does. TDW is easy to get ahold of (admitadly with less features and desirability). And IMO I like the Avenger sculpt helmeted, but in photos at least I prefer the TDW unhelmeted.

Some prices I understand. Obviously the DX lineup has an appeal and were more expensive to begin with. Iron Man is Iron Man.. there are still threads being bumped now regarding old MkIV, VI and VII figures.. so those I can all understand.

It's not even like Loki is just a couple of hundred dollars more, like say Star-Lord (which will have a market for people now that Drax is out), or some of the old stock Terminator stuff..

Even if I could get it (A1 Loki), I personally prefer TDW version anyway. I like his more casual outfit, the sculpt un-helmeted and him holding the short scepter.

There's the answer. Loki has been in 3 movies, has had 2 figures made and 1 is terrible(headsculpt anyway, the tailoring is good). I remember reading Hiddleston may be moving on from Marvel(who knows if itll actually happen) and if so we may get one more figure of him from Thor 3 and hopefully for many will have the horns helmet, if not Avengers Loki may be the best we're going to get.

Yup, Loki is popular and A1 Loki is an excellent figure (my first Hot Toy, way back when!) and that's why it's expensive. Add on that the second wasn't an improvement in a lot of ways...

Another factor is the quality of the figure itself. The quality of the painted HS, the outfit and the amount of accessories, etc. IF HT get this NA SW right on QC and everything is good, the chances are the prices will go up very quickly. If the QC is no good and it turns out nothing like the pictures of the prototype, well then, the prices will drop like a rock...

The quality will be fine but Scarlet Witch isn't in the Cap/IM category and this costume didn't really have any screen time. It'll be higher at first because it's a movie promo but I doubt it'll have a lasting high aftermarket value, hardly any Marvel figure does. I think once SW gets in a few more costume changes people are going to prefer what they see on screen than a 7 second show in AoU...or I could be wrong.

I don't think the TDW is that terrible in the sculpt. Like I said, it's actually only with the helmet on that I prefer the A1. And yes, Loki has been the consistent villain so far. He's probably my favourite character, certainly my favourite villain. And the only one to last multiple movies.. (lets not count Thanos yet, and The Other doesn't count). So I'm the first to say he's an appealing character to have. Odin doesn't however attract those prices. I'm sure other characters from the A1 era of movies don't either (it's been a while since I looked)

Funny thing is, at the other end of the scale, you've got Bruce Banner who has been in just about as many movies as anyone else (technically as a character, he gets a canon MCU appearance from Ed Norton as well), and they can't give the damn thing away.. People want the Hulk, but not ole Brucey aye. He's the civie version of one of the 4 main Avengers, yet it seems is less popular than the non superhuman/Avenger SHIELD characters..

That is why HT doesn't come up with civvies version of the characters as standalone items most of the time, with the exception of Stark, of course. But the Mechanic Stark didn't sell that well either and Rose Hill Tony was a rare exclusive...So when people buy superhero figures, they want the superhero, not some version that reminds them when they are not superheroes...

But heck, you can put me down for a civvies Black Widow anytime...

In Europe Odin is starting to rise in price.....

I would have bought the Bruce Banner figure, if it had actually looked like Mark Ruffalo. I don't know who the moron who sculpted that thing was looking at, but it looks absolutely nothing like the actor. Nothing. I saw more Seth McFarlane in it. I actually prefer the civie versions of the characters. But that thing was a travesty, and a fat-headed insult to MR. If it didn't sell well, it's because of HTs laziness in just putting out whatever the hell they feel like, believing that, for the most part, sycophantic boot-lickers will buy whatever half-assed crap they put out, just because it has Hot Toys on the box. And then when it doesn't sell well, they believe it means no one has an interest in the figure, instead of looking at what a **** job they did. They're egos are too big to believe they could ever do anything wrong. I like their stuff, but of late, it seems many of their sculpts are just phoned in (The Falcon, Helmet-free Ant Man, half of the Star Wars OT line).

:exactly:

Same thing with the civvie Steve Rogers figure. Though personally, that's actually one of my more favorite Cap figures.

In the DC section, people are wondering if HT will make a BvS Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne figure. I believe that they will not, based on the reasons you mentioned.
