So I got the Rebreather version in... and compared to the BvS Batman I have to say... I regret selling my sniper rifle exclusive for this. It is not the definitive Batman, for me the only two things it improves on is the bicep width and more matte cowl. The cape, as I thought is a piece of crap, to have it in a draped position is impossible, and to have it in a dynamic position it looks cheap and tacky, especially because the cape isn't representative of how he was in the film at all.

The suit colour is also a lot darker than the BvS, and the printed pattern is complete ****e, it looks blurred and undetailed. All of the subtle bumps and pattern design has been left out for this weird and blocky version, it just looks blurred and not crisp at all.

Overall I'm extremely disappointed in it at the moment - will play around with it some more later, hopefully it grows on me!

The shoulders and arms do sit better, though, that's a much better improvement. I just wish the cape came with a wired bit at the shoulders and then just draped from there.

I guess this shows there are huge variations between different batches. I've extremely happy with my SS Batman. The suit is certainly lighter than my BvS figure and the better paint apps make it appear even lighter still. The cowl is improved, less reflective and not touching the bat symbol. The proportions of the body look better and the thighs are noticeably better. That's especially clear in the picture Bruce Wayne just posted.

I agree the cape is pretty useless if you want it to drape. I just use the cape I got from Jaxon on mine and he looks perfect. The odd time I want a more dynamic pose it's easy to put the wired cape back on. I do think it works fine for those kinda poses but yeah still not the standard of the custom wired capes out there.

Interesting because the softer material usually yields better articulation. The BvS one felt restrictive and the material seemed like it didn't want to be posed.

What I'm saying is that the SS Version has a more softer suit which makes it easier to pose. But I'm just concerned about the durability.

Totally agreed about the proportions. the thickness in the waist, chest, and thighs look a whole lot better. I'm thinking the variations from batch to batch for the most part are in the color of the suit. Like Garypool I got mine from Timcent as well. Maybe around the same time. But we all have our own opinions.

Also, my SS suit is somewhat lighter than my BVS Version. Not as light as Creasy's but enough for me to be happy overall...

The complaints about the SS Batman cape not able to properly droop down is unfounded.

It's like expecting a screwdriver to hammer down a nail.

The SS Batman cape exists for dynamic poses.

Complaining about it is just like complaining about BvS Batman not coming with a wired cape. It's juvenile...

The BvS durability was in question as well as people had peeling issues with the suit

Yes I know. But that’s what has me concerned for my SS suit what with it being softer than my BVS version. Having had my BVS version for almost a year now, I can say the suits held up nicely. No difference as far as I can tell from the first day that I got it.

Mind you, one of the members Luisenigma1 brought up the peeling issue earlier this year but he’s been on record saying that he repainted his suit. Not saying others claims aren’t valid , but just putting that out there.

I think mine is very similar to yours. Overall very glad I made the upgrade. I don't care about the box, stand etc or even cape(that can be changed easily enough). The figure itself is an improvement in my eyes. If I still had the BvS version I'd do the mod that Dean Knight posted a few days ago to beef him up and prevent the cowl touching the bat symbol.

Cheers to that. Totally happy with mine as well. After getting my SS version I tried stuffing my BVS version with cotton to match the thickness, but it still doesn’t compare. I stuffed cotton in the chest(even more than I had originally) and abs but the SS version still has it beat in terms of proportions.

Yeah in my opinion everything on the ss batman is an improvement, there's is definitely differences in the lightness/darkness of some but Iv yet to see one that is darker than the bvs version.
Iv never seen any difference in the armour marking print on the suit either.
Not heard of it anyone else mentioning it either-and I have two ss batmen and 2 bvs batmen.
That's why it would be interesting to see photos of Gary pools one
Quick couple of comparisons of not very flattering comparison photos of ss and bvs

Wow! Looking at your photos now, mine might actually be closer to yours in color than I thought. Another quick photo (with flash this time) of mine...

I guess it’s a matter of lighting. My place gets a little dim.

Yeah that's pretty light too, here's a pic of mine in natural daylight

I think the shades of the ss are very subtle changes, Iv still yet to see one that's darker than the bvs version.
My other ss batman is slightly darker but had more of the gold/brown hues
Both look great!

I think some of that effect might be due to the paint job on the SS Batman. Beyond just the extra bulk the paint work really makes those abs pop more. Exceptional work by Hot Toys IMO but I accept not everyone will love it.

Not sure where mine ranks on the dark to light scale but I'm happy with it. No longer have my BvS bats for comparison. Here's my SS figure with custom cape not the stock. Really need to get a custom for the Keaton Batman to. :lol

Man! The Hot Toys Keaton Bats are so on point LOL! I've been staying away from the Keaton Bats threads because I'm just not ready to dip into those yet. The Returns Set is still available for a reasonable price, but the 89, which I really want, is a lot more than I'm willing to spend. But now having spent over retail for the SS Bats, I'm at odds with myself.

Yeah I think the subtle changes hot toys made with this made it more than worth the upgrade if you had the bvs figure.
It's a little like the difference of the dx12 and the armour version-it's the little things that make the difference.

Great work with the cape! I'm having trouble getting my wires to stay at certain angles without propping it onto his arms.

Just a quick photo to illustrate my point earlier about the gap under the cowl for the BVS Version when you pose the head looking up. As you can see there isn’t a gap on the SS version on the right.

Could be wrong, but I think there would be a gap on the SS version if the cape wasn't chunky enough to fill it.

The "nib" of the bottom of the cowl on the ss brain is folded down too bring it back into the suit to help hold it flush, unlike the bvs version

I prefer the 89 body but the Returns cowl. Couldn't justify the price of the 89 to myself, it's still Keaton Batman so I just had to have him in the collection. Might still get the 89 version one day but not right now with so many new figures coming next year.

If you have the means I'd definitely recommend picking up a returns batman-it's an amazing figure-better articulation and I prefer the look of the suit.
&I was born in 81 & loved Keaton batman but the returns batman was my favourite suit.
Also had 89 batman and sold him as soon as I got the returns version.
I have two now and wouldn't ever think of selling them
One displayed with the batmobile the other on its own in a detolf
