I prefer the 89 body but the Returns cowl. Couldn't justify the price of the 89 to myself, it's still Keaton Batman so I just had to have him in the collection. Might still get the 89 version one day but not right now with so many new figures coming next year.

Exactly. I've already got plenty on preorder.

If you have the means I'd definitely recommend picking up a returns batman-it's an amazing figure-better articulation and I prefer the look of the suit.
&I was born in 81 & loved Keaton batman but the returns batman was my favourite suit.
Also had 89 batman and sold him as soon as I got the returns version.
I have two now and wouldn't ever think of selling them
One displayed with the batmobile the other on its own in a detolf

For the Keaton Bats, my problem is I can't have one without the other. I'm fond of both. I really like the organic look of the 89. Also those deep set eyes on that cowl look amazing. For Returns, it was a lot more form fitting and sleeker. Also the ears and cowl evoked the Neal Adams look.

And that's a great set up! Where'd you get the plexi display casing?

Thanks it's from sorashop
Took me ages to find someone that could do a custom set up but they are great, they can do whatever size and whatever specification you want.
My picture doesn't do it justice, I got a mirrored background and a deep gloss black base-i love it. Thinking about lighting it now.
I know what you mean about the Keaton bats, I grew up with him as my batman bug having the 89 & returns together you could see how far hot toys have come in producing these figures.
The 89 looked a bit too toyish alongside the returns which definitely looks like Michael Keaton in a batman suit.
Still don't know how they messed up the Keaton headsculpt so bad tho!?

I did some research regarding the differences between the two and Clipper King posted a really in depth review on youtube. Now I'm totally bummed that the 89 figure has limited articulation because of the suit and lack of the ratchet joints compared to the Returns figure. At least that narrows it down for me. Kinda pointless to get the 89 figure if I can't get it into at least a decent amount of poses.

Although I wonder if anyone has tried switching out the bodies. And I don't know where you would find a Hot Toys body that had ratchet joints.

That's why I don't have any HT Keaton Batman figures. I hate to spend that much on what amounts to basically a statue. Granted, it's cool as hell, but I want to spend my figure budget on figures I can repose, use all/most of the accessories, etc.

Really though! Not really worth it for a figure that's pretty much a statue. But at least the Returns has ratchet joints.

Here's hoping Hot Toys revisits the 89 somewhere down the line.

Anyway, sorry for the derail! Saw the Returns figure and couldn't resist.

In a weird way I kinda like that about the Keaton figures, it reminds me so much of how he looked and moved in the films. :lol

This Batfleck is amazing in terms of articulation though, at least compared to all previous Batmans and the armoured version. I usually leave him just in a standing moody pose but it's cool to put him in really articulated poses for a few days at a time without having to worry about damage.

I would imagine it is, but I wouldn't mess with this figure. On a side note I took the wires of my batman's cape to see how it looks. Not bad but it's not a made to drape.

I honestly need to remove the suit so I can glue in a leg post above the knee, for whatever reason they missed it and it can slide in and out. I got the outfit off the chest and arms but then got stuck on the belt. Any help would be appreciated!

Again the cape isn't made for draping as its to long at the sides and. Overall it has nice weight to it. 20171011_003621.jpg

Is there a way to safely remove the belt?

Quick question. Is the belt removable on the SS batman?

Yes, and it is very easy. Just look at my pics.

Detatch the belt from the back of the buckle.

Thanks for this pic, tlwtw. I just got mine, but I'm yet to unbox it. This would help just in case. Anyway, is the belt buckle also secured by a tiny spot of glue, or can it be easily undone by that peg and hole?
