That swap with the M33 looks pretty good. Wonder how that would look with the AoU armor.

I actually got the M33 for the AOU armor setup, but my previous fig sold before I could try it. I'm sure the results would look great though, if not kinda slim for Thor in the torso area

But he thinks that non-rubber articulation sucks.
Instant disrespect for anyone who buys action figures for museum poses.
Stupidest statement I've read today. Buy Marvel Legends for "action figures". These are high quality collectibles... spending $200+ each folks can pose them however they want.

How much stupid statements you read every week?
Do you have a list? :monkey3

They're all dolls, mate. All of them.
And if we're to REALLY FREAKIN GO THERE... plastic belts, boots and hair doesn't scream "high quality" in any way.
These are cheap to make, produced in thousands and overpriced dollies. None of that makes them hi-end collectibles. :lol
Like, come on! The only hi-end parts of these dolls are closing made of natural materials and head sculpts.

I can understand that open articulation on arms is not aesthetically pleasing' for everyone... Doesn't mean that poorly made rubber-arms, that will 100% crack/get stained/stick if you'll use them, is a good alternative. Especially for a $230+ product.

Folks can do whatever they want with their $230+ dolls.
Havin' figures with better arm articulation doesn't affect their museum pose love in any way. :dunno

They're not high-end figures by all means but "high-end" is also subjective based on the buyers economic circumstances.

They're "high end" enough. Was sort of thinkin' about it the other day 'coz luv sourcing 1/6 weapons and stuff for my WS and BW. But even a "decent" to-scale 1/6 scale sniper rifle is 25-40$ and that's plastic, mostly. Sure, there are modellers that make the same rifles with "real" parts. Those are hundreds of dollars. Bet the average full Detolf on the board cost 1,000$ - 2,000$ total.

And then was thinkin' about upcoming IW figs and reading the Hulkbuster thread and sort of asking myself what's my upper level $$$$ for a fig:horror. Anyway, doll, art figure, collectible - IMO as dolls go - and I don't think of HTs that way - these are "high end" enough re the attention to scale, details e.g. it's the balance between manufacture and turning out something as fabulous as Iron Man diecast or my new CW ScarJo. IMO the average kid's "doll" doesn't cost so much and isn't done to-scale; zippers and buttons are too large, eyes have that wide-eyed look, paint and sculpts are stylized, less articulation, etc.

Or - I had asked a 1/6 costumer re a custom job 'coz I wanted some real leather stuff and all that. Quoted price between 300-350$ for pants and top, no accessories, no included fig, no shoes. I passed, but if HT goes any more "high end" I think I wouldn't be buying so much.

Anyway I wasn't wild about potential rubber cracking re Thor but *shrug*. Plastic and rubber are gonna age. If the rubber gets dirty IMO this is supposed to be a warrior, not salon-fresh. Now I kinda wish my new TWS Falcon had rubber arms, I think it would look better - I'll have to check out Phicen.

Interesting take. I always considered the term "high-end" in regards to how the price compares to other similar collectibles. 50.00 1/6 ML compared to 250.00 1/6 HT Marvel figures. In that comparison, Hot Toys are high end in regards to Marvel toys.

If this figure had non-rubber arms and accurate lookin' new head sculpt instead of AoU repaint I'd gladly buy. Alas...

Instant disrespect for such a silly criticism on how people prefer their figures. My thor or winter soldier doesn't need to be doing a back flip on my shelf. I get them cuz I love the characters and I want them represented in my place. Which them simply standing there does quite well. If I wanted an action figure, I'd buy one for 7 bucks at walmart and throw him around my room while making noises with my mouth. I do have characters like Strange and the mark 46 in dynamic poses but nothing wrong with good old fashion str8 up standing figures.

Trying to get back in to the flow of things. I need to make some time to put together rooted head for my Roadworn Thor. IMG_20170927_203843-01.jpeg

Got my "its arriving in the Sideshow warehouse in 14 days, get your credit card sorted" email today..

@jmann - thanks for sharing those Instagram pics last week. Was a little busy and haven't had the chance to get in and properly thank you. It surprises me that not even HT had shared some of these blogger and new release pics, especially considering this might just be the best Thor to date.

How many people got the 14 day notice? Mine just got pushed to November and I pre-ordered the day it went up.

Posting this for Hehateme23 hope to see this sculpt on a Roadworn Thor soon. As I plan to purchase one in the near future.

I got my AGCHK Road Worn Thor today. I like it for what it is, let's start with that. It's a representation of Thor from Ragnorak, after or during his time in the underworld and prior to arriving on Sakarr(I'm assuming). I like the figure because its essentially AOU Thor(which I never got) but has new elements from Ragnorak. It's got great new Gladitorial armor, new boots and the cape is really cool too in that it's tattered and worn down. It's also got a hood which I had to futz with to get a nice look but I think its awesome. The two Mjolnirs was a great choice by Hot Toys. The metal is great looking, because it looks like real metal, and the plastic has the detail, so you get two good options depending on what you want. The arms are rubber, but if they are the same as Light Asgardian Thor they will hold up because I had that figure for 3 years and it never once had arm issues. The drawback to the arms is you have to keep the arms more or less straight. If you're creative you can still get nice poses.
Lastly the Surtur(assumption) skull is really big and makes a cool addition. I keep it just at the base and it looks awesome. Its got fine detailing and an eye catching shape.

Good: New Armor, Two Mjolnirs, Surtur Head, New tattered Cape with Hood
Bad: Limited poses because of the rubber arms, not much waist articulation

Some lower quality phone photos from Instagram.. [Cape may appear purple but is actually a dark red/wine color)

Thanks for putting up pictures. Don’t think I had seen any shots of him in the hood yet and it looks great.
