It's not a smartphone you moron. It's a figure that is easy to assemble and take apart. Half this figure needs to be disassembled to switch jackets/shirts, etc.

Your second point is completely moot, the whole issue that we voiced about your complaints was that you wouldn't even check to see whether it was broken or not, since that's all they were asking.

Again- I am not dissecting the figure. They also said in the process of following their instructions that if there was further damage "other than the dislocated joint" it was on me and not them. So by that logic if I followed their instructions and the knee is broken they can say "hey, we said dislocated, not snapped, so your problem."

Its a cop out. I don't pay $275 to do their job for them.

Thank you very much!

Huh. I almost feel like the first version of his sculpt looks better...

Well it looks like I won the neck stain lottery with my figure, which just arrived today. Ended up ordering from BBTS so I'm going to contact them and either get a replacement or send if back for a full refund, move on to another figure, and be happy I saved money not buying a figure that is clearly widespread defective. Hell, that means I can pass on the Yondu as well and save even more. What a cluster.

Also, as far as I can tell that whole magic eraser solution is complete BS. I tried it on one spot and all it did was take some of the paint off around it, as you can see in this picture:

Hmm so this guy is showing up with defects on the neck and other things as well. Debating on if I should still order him or not. I got my noticed on the Spider-Man homemade suit so I'm wondering if I should just get him and pass on getting Star Lord for now. Decisions decisions.

I'm wondering if 'Remove Zit' (a specialist vinyl cleaning product designed to remove stains and worse things like Sharpie from old dolls) would be any help here. However, I've no idea how the rubberised skin would react to the product since I don't actually know what plastic Hot Toys is using here. Still it might be worth a shot given that no official solution seems to be forthcoming.

Reading this thread I'm wondering if Rit's dye color remover or hydrogen peroxide - sponging gently w. a Q-tip or makeup sponge tip or eraser - might work. But the cheap dyes HT seems to use will keep bleeding. I'd seal the inner collar w. maybe a mix of water and fabric glue.

I've got figs with black and blue torsos, thanks to the cheap HT dyes. Unbelievable:(

That's indeed pretty pronounced. Do you remember if the jacket was zipped all the way up when you opened it?

Nope it was only zipped up halfway.

All I can think of is that they clearly learned nothing from the issue with the SS purple coat Joker, but at the same time they had protective film under the clothes of the Jyn figure that seemed completely unnecessary. It just makes no sense.

WOW! Yours came out reeeeally bad. In comparison to mine, I suppose the amazing, top-notch customer service from Sideshow was correct...mine ain't that bad.

But I digress...so the more I think about it the more I think I will pass on this figure entirely now. Before I had thoughts about returning my current one and picking up from somewhere else, however now it seems that it's a legit crap shoot on whether or not you will end up with a paint-stained one.

I pity the guy who picks this up from eBay in 2 or 3 years. Sheesh...Star-Lord might as well be the red version of Yondu at that point! :slap

Are you a gambling man. That's what it seems to boil down to at this point. :dunno

Well, I really wanted this figure until I read the last 4 pages in this thread. Seems people are really disappointed. That sucks.

Oh well, money going to Mark VI diecast now. Thanks!

I'm still keeping my Yondu preorder though.

Like I had said in an earlier post, HT really seems to lack common sense and consistency. Ex: Ironman magnet pieces, not protecting exposed figure parts that can stain, etc.

Glad our bad experiences have been beneficial to some members on this board.

HT really dropped the ball here and since they are unwilling to take responsibility, the best thing we can do as consumers is to not give them our money for shoddy products!

For those that are okay with the stain and plan on keeping it, just keep in mind that if it's flawed out of the box on day one, just imagine how it will (or won't) stand the test of time. Something to think about...

I noticed the Star-Lord body for sale on ToyAnxiety looked like it had a small red stain as well.

If someone can figure out a solution to clean it off that’d be great but can’t blame anyone for not wanting to put some kind of chemical on the neck.
