Re: Hot Toys - MMS4** - The Matrix Neo 1/6 scale collectible action figure

That would mean it's sculpted on the computer rather than sculpted physically out of clay.
They may have 3D printed it in wax and done further detailing with the wax print to make the master.

Now is this another John Matrix situation where we see one thing, and get something completely different?

The eyebrows are fuller, but there's something off putting about the rest of it.

The official spec photos are much more flattering. I'm betting the usual lens distortion from these close-up pics is giving it a puffier look than it actually has.

I'm good with this, honestly. It's a much better effort than Ripley in terms of sculpt and accessories, the tailoring on the outfit is excellent, and we're getting a great dynamic stand to put that wired cape to use. Short of some bullet time effects (which may have looked cheesy, not sure), this is as solid a release of '99 Neo as we could've gotten. All that's left is to see the price.

By the way hey everyone! Welcome (back) to the Aliens & Robots section! It still exists, some people even still post in here :D

I'm going to guess $234

I was just thinking that this morning. :lol

Now all we need is a P1 2.0 announcement and it'll be just like the good old days.

I'm thinking closer to $250.

I'm going to win the Showcase Showdown, I know it.

Blegh! I'm hoping the license was cheap...making the price lessssssssssss.

Agreed I was going to put out a petition to close the ALIENS thread down. No action happening here on both the HT and NECA fronts!!

Re: Hot Toys Acquires The Matrix License

Not bad. Surprisingly not bad at all.

Welcome to my collection, Neo.

Maybe she made the render?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS4** - The Matrix Neo 1/6 scale collectible action figure

Yeah that's what I would assume. I imagine their sculptors have become versed in 3D modeling.

I still believe Iconic's was the best Keanu. The paint of course sucks by comparison to HT. They got the hair shape perfect, where as HT is just round and Iconic has the right curve in his part.

You can't tell me this ain't a stronger likeness.

Man. I just do not know what to say, but that sculpt is wrong (the chin is elongated, the eyes are wrong shape). And if you take different angles to compare, well... they would never fit.
Take rather this pic:

or this:

But it is true that the HT sculpt looks to be made for Reloaded/Revolutions:

And this is the same HT sculpt, but from a different angle:

You just described almost all the issues with the fathead HT version :lol

Likewise.
What is wrong with it? (and it's a rhetorical question)

I do not get, why you hate it so much, comparing to a not so perfect sculpt.
