I think I'm going to pick this one up. I never wanted it either but after seeing the Marvel One Shot with him, I think he's going to be a player in the marvel universe in the future. Plus, Kingsley is amazing.

You won't regret it.
I can't imagine i will change the "laid back in his chair" pose. He looks too cool!

Nice pick up guys.

B, go to Amazon and search foo dogs and a variety will come up that you can choose from.

Thanks. I have had a look. Ten pages in and there's nothing like the ones in the movie posters or the Mandarin's televised
broadcasts. I'll keep looking.

Correct, I forgot the exact names of the ones used on set but when I searched for them I only found a few and they were life sized and thousands of dollars for the most part. Most people here went with the foo dogs b/c they're abundant, affordable and easier to find in scale with our purposes. :)

Gotcha. I see where you are coming from.
If anyone knows the names of those dragon things, let me know!

I found them for you B - they are qilin, kirin, or kylin.

Per Wikipedia:

qilin, kirin, or kylin is a mythical hooved chimerical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures, said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler.[1] It is a good omen thought to occasion prosperity or serenity (Chinese: 瑞, p ruì).[citation needed] It is often depicted with what looks like fire all over its body. It is sometimes called the "Chinese unicorn" when compared with the Western unicorn.

Idk bout being a key in the future, he might be...
dead after the real mandarin gets threw with him
But anywho I would love to have a fig of him in an orange jumpsuit. Nice kitbash I would think :D. He was really awesome in the short, enjoyed him a lot more in that then in all of IM3 lol.

Just wondering, the people who bought this, did you buy it because you liked trevor in the movie, your displaying it as if it is the actual mandarin or just because you like Kingsley?

Bit of everything for me really. I managed to get all the parts for mine really cheap, the quality of the tailoring and the headsculpt is some of hot toys best work and I thought Kingsley was great as the pseudo mandarin and Trevor. Totally believable in both roles and I think between his time in the iron man 3 and the short he's one of my favourite MCU characters (as long as they don't use him again and ruin it)

I bought him for the quality of the figure, and I liked the character's role he played before the twist. He was genuinely threatening in the first half. As a portrait artist myself, I could not ignore the perfect job that was done on him. I think he is the next level in realism for sculpt and paint.

I got him at a very awesome price, 160... so you can't really pass up a hot toys at that price nowadays :) but I like to think of him as the ''actual mandarin''

I'm about to make my final payment next week and I actually can't wait. I think he was a great representation of a "modern" mandarin, minus the twist of course.

But because of All Hail The King, I'm really glad i got this guy now.
