Just got home from seeing IM3...

MAJOR face palm towards treatment of Mandarin....just, wow, speechless.

On a side note, 2 things that really annoyed me
1. how many people ended up wearing suits throughout different points in the film. Like, ok, Pepper was kinda neat and understandable, but then it just got annoying. I was honestly expecting that last Mk 42 that came flying in to be the little kid, like legit. 2. Every time they showed an "extremis soldier" it was like it was supposed to be this crazy, unexpected plot twist, but it just...never was

but yeah, overall I keep thinking that, despite how awesome looking this will likely be, it's sort of pointless?

It's absolutely pointless. Makes me wonder if the people in charge at Hot Toys even watched the movie.

I think most people has a problem with the polt twist and they don't realise that....
Killian was the real Mandarin, he says that himself, I didn't know what to think about the plot twist but now I like it I think it works, I like it so much that I barely understand why people dislike it.

Which is why I wondered if my idea above might be slightly more likely than normal?
The two-for-one idea would help bolster both, because let's face it Killian wouldn't be the most compelling figure on his own.
And I definitely understand the reluctance to get Mandarin after the movie. Leaving the movie (which I adored) I did think... do I need that now, really? I decided yes, I want it because of my love of the comics and the fact that if they produce it well it could be an amazing figure. But I can definitely see people being wary and the two-for-one might offset that some.

A final battle Killian figure that lights up would be all kinds of awesome.

I still want a Mandarin figure, even after seeing the movie.

Even if the figure looks amazing, which I know it will- The character itself is not worth $200. HT will have to price this very competitively

Umm, probably because we saw that in batman begins? To me it really showed lack of creativity. For such an important villian in the IM universe, his 10 rings was symbolically shown in propaganda and not used which was a big miss. Aliens are fair game in this universe now, why not explore this?

Killian and the Extremis worked fine and could stand on its own within the movie and the twist was not necessary had they still served "the master"

Agreed, about everything. They could have had one or the other. Both would be able to withstand the movie, solo. Instead, we get a *******ized version that doesn't make justice, or lives up to either of the characters.

Shame too. Much of this movie worked great, all of the armors, Tony and the mark 42 and the character performances were excellent.

I enjoyed the movie, but unfortunately this figure in the movies for me is "Trevor from the crapper"

So after this are we basically done with the Iron Man 3 for the near I have doubts that they would have any other figures prepared as of yet

Oh comparisons.. here we go...

I think the plot twist was good, and the concept of an enemy hiding his face can be traced to ancient stories not batman.. well in the end it does seem like its all about opinion because I respectfuly disagree

the "Twist" was fine but it had too much comedy, when Ra's announchd he tricked bruce i was like OHHH shiete! in this one the comedy killed a serious moment

Key word there. Just wrapped up the most successful CB trilogy of all time, not even a year ago. Unfortunately people are going to compare it is what we do. Given that movie's recency effect alone should have been a red flag no no as any human that has seen both of these movies will make that comparison.

In the end it didn't matter, they could have carted tony out tap dancing for 2 hours and the damn thing would still make $500 million dollars on the number of people going to see the film. It's a comic book movie not Citizen Kane.:lol
