Hot Toys Platoon!

Not a bad looking figure from one of my favorite war flicks from the 80's. I think he'll go nicely alongside my DiD Capt. Miller and Private Daniel display. Let's hope HT expands this line with the other key characters from the film.

Yup. The likeness to Charlie Sheen is pretty spot-on. I noticed the watch on his upper left chest looks like the same one used on the HT T2 Sarah Connor.

This is so left field its unreal. Not the first licence i'd think of when they announced future classic film tie ins. While undoubtedly a classic film, the figure is a pass for me. Now i wish HT will go on to release, say, Ghostbusters, Wrath of Khan, Matrix, Indiana Jones would be nice too!

I concur with your findings. This is a tough one, Platoon is one of the classic war films I watched as a child and which made me believe war was FAAANTASTIC!!....no wait that was Hot Shots part deux.

But seriously this figure looks great, totally unexpected and he's just been added to my mental 'trying to resist' list, my thread for same has died a death somewhere. I just wonder if I bought him would I be opening a whole can of worms for other war figures. I mean certainly I'd need Barnes and Elias at least. I'm already spending waaaaaay too much money this year.

I can understand completely where you're coming from , another one that amazes me that they've never had a crack at is Die Hard but I like that they go left field sometimes. They need to do a Leon though and then I'll die happy.

I think I'm going to fail in my endeavour to only buy sci-fi figures.

But surely they'll only make Barnes and Elias after Sheen's character and they're really the only other ones who'd be essential to represent the film.

Yeah, I thought it would be obvious to know when to use a sculpted neck and when not to. Hopefully it's something they had in mind and just didn't come around to it yet.
