Sister's family has left for the motel (they never stay with us, which is a relief actually...wild boys, one scared to death of my room....poor little guy....), so, back to the powerloader in a few before crashing early for a long day tomorrow...
I am gonna try to get those pistons loose, and if I do, add the hoses. Then, final pics after I ever get Rip redone.

JediMike, I will probably wet the clothing, and paint it on her, in place. Not sure if that will work yet. I know I can paint the pants in place as they are pretty thick. I might remove the shirt, and wet it, and then do washes of watered burnt umber and other dirt tan colors, and work them with my fingers to work all that in and blend it. Just before it's fully dried out, put it back on.

I cannot believe it still.
It sits just above my computer screen, so looking up at it is always a sort of shock. It IS real. Just incredible.

Now, to hope for the Queen! ONE DAY! You know she'll be out.
One day....

Awesome Les!!!! :rock

I got my PL today too but I have yet to put it together since I went out and saw Beowulf in 3-D instead.

The packing box was friggin' huge and the PL box itself is huge! :rock

Man! Does this thing rock!!!!

Thanks to IllJedi for the tips, via Mike. I did get the pistons loose!
TO ALL: They are stepped, as in they notch out, bit by bit for holding poses. No wonder I couldn't get it loose at first. As I pulled them out, I worked them more and more, until it was easier. You think you're gonna break it, but you are not. It works GREAT!!!!
Got the tubes in too. They seem easy to disconnect for future storage or whatever. No glue needed! Just slide them onto the posts. Easy as pie! Need to plan your hose poses though! :D

Except for revamping Ripley, I AM DONE with the Loader! Dings, dents, whatever! IT is a beaut!

On to Wor-Gar's VIP Gifs, and the PJAM Express elevator to Hell! :rock us boys! And MaulFan too! :D
Who's next????

Damn man that looks so good Les, You've sold it to me but i aint got the cash for it. If i did get it id take Ripley out and leave the Loader stand alone

That looks sweet Les!

Looks great Les, nice images and touchup work. My PL remains in it's box at the moment, I know that sounds like herecy lol, but an important woman's leaving my company after tomorrow and I'm making her a special going away gift, so I have to finish tonight, priorities. At this point, I may save my stuff til after the holiday when everyone will be around again. Since this is my main thread for visits right now, I'll just say have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Congrats Les! It really looks fantastic and you have the perfect spot for it I see. :rock

Great pics too, I can't wait to see what it all looks like when you get done with it man. I know it will rule, for sure.

Well, well, well... :lol Long Day here. WGA Solidarity March on Hollywood Blvd, then home, then Dinner, then saw a Friend in a one man play... so, I missed the Big Les playtime reveal. Les, I know right now you are dreaming... of waking up to find your PL by your workstation, Only...

IT AIN'T A DREAM.
IT'S REAL! :chew:cool:

CONGRATS BRO, and thanks for the ding pic... and the reference link FB. Man, Oh man, counting the days here. And Thankful for this piece...

Thanks for your tips on painting Ripley's clothing to look more worn down, dirty and sweaty like it did at the end of the movie for the big PL vs Queen alien showdown. I'll use your advice and try out those color washes on the wet shirt after I get my PL in....hopefully tomorrow. It is "supposed" to be delivered sometime tomorrow by Fed Ex. I just hope I am home to receive it with all of the work I'm doing now at Best Buy with the holiday rush on full throttle now until the end of the year!

Great shots of your PL too Les! I plan on getting one of those silver paint pens like you, and putting the dings and dents in my PL too. :D

Happy Thanksgiving y'all.

And congrats Les. I too was planning on doing the same thing to my Power Loader (after it finally arrives).

All you looking to do the same, I recommend this mini-site:
https://www.geocities.com/tortie42/HOCS/Aliens/PL.html
It has all the reference pix you'll need.

Great links, but I have to say it's pretty sweet straight from the box, that arc welder looks like it could do with a bit of weathering if you're that way inclined. But I'm keeping mine box fresh.

Thanks guys! :D Wait'll you get your's! You wanna talk about posting! It will be a madhouse in here! :lol Glad I got mine out of the way. I'll probably post a pic when Rip's redone, other than that, have at it guys. You that have one, know. This is one sweet collectible! I am glad I didn't cancel it!

And Wookster, I understand. I think the box paint is astonishing. It has TONS of weathering already, so the dings are all I felt it needed. I can defend both attitudes. No problems with either. Those of us purists who customize stuff anyway, will no doubt ding. Those that don't, won't. Easy.
I will admit though, that the dings bring out something about it, making it look heavier and all, metal...heavy metal :rock ...that otherwise looks plastic.
Just me.

And that is the link I used as reference too FB!

Oh, I plan on aging the torch. I think it is oddly placed and weird to attach. Not sure they did that part well, but it looks good, and the wiring all over is first rate. Be careful of those teeny spiral wires under the control handles on the arms, as they come loose easily.

And, intructions ARE included! With a visual breakdown of all hose attachment areas. It only took me 15 minutes to attach them all, and I know I could break it all down as fast. Easy! Not as threatening as you might think.

So...have at it guys!

If I don't post much for a few days, Happy Thanksgiving from me too! To all my Yank friends! To the rest of you, eat heartily anyway!:D
And bask in the Powerloader's coolness! :rock

Oh, and for those that care, DekDave got his. I think he approves!

Thanks for kicking off the posting frenzy that is sure to follow with the cool pics and the tantalizing reviews, Les. Those of us who are still waiting are even more antsy to get ours now. DekDave must be havin' a ball with his. It's too bad he's not able to share his excitement and impressions with the rest of us now. :monkey2

monday is sooooo far away for me!!! but it's gonna be a day!! i'll probably get NOTHING done at work that day in anticipation of my UPS delivery.

:D
