I'd say the Predator will be done to perfection. They probably waited so long to do him so they could refine their predator-making techniques on the lesser sequel predators (no disrespect to Wolfie and especially not to P2).
I liked the previous images of Dutch and Billy though could have done with less warpaint on the faces. Hopefully the likenesses are there. The only question will be should I buy two of each human to replicate different states of dress in the film or is there going to Dutch Version 2 a few months later?
Again going on that newsletter there could only be 3 figures for this line.

That surprises me, the sculpt looked like Arnie to me, just a weird paint job. This new image is a question mark. Won't judge the piece by it, but I question if it's the same suclpt anymore.

Some of you are worried that the Predator will look like the lousy bust they released? Why? If anything at the rate Hot Toys is going the Predator should look even better than their previous release (whatever that may be at the time)

i really would like a arnie and pred from this line, but am curious to how much they will cost especially if arnie uses a new muscle body specially developed for him. i really cant afford to spend a crap ton on these figures right now.

I actually think the original photos of Dutch were dead on. I think they put the excessive paint on in effort to tone down how great the Arnie likeness was due to licensing issues. However, this new photo seems to show that the previous sculpt has been replaced by something that only slightly resembles Arnie.
I'll be really bummed if it doesn't as I am REALLY looking forward to Dutch and Billy. It would be a shame if Hot Toys isn't able to use somebody like Yulli to really knock these out of the park.
If the likeness isn't there when we see the images in a few days maybe we get a commission going. Imaresqd1 might be the guy for the job

Hi, im new to this forum but a big predator/aliens/Terminator 1/2 fan. I have a decent collection (gonna post in shelves forum soon) and cant wait to add these new figures to it. I have a question tho, how do you pre-order these when pre-orders start? I know HT site doesnt do it, is it through sideshow? thanks for the info, i dont want to be late on these and overpay on ebay. Ive been waiting for a good Dutch figure for a long time.

Well it depends really, which country do you live in? Here in Canada we have www.toys2.net and in the States www.sideshowtoy.com
However their are a few good retailers here and there and one member here that has been selling Hot Toys pieces to members. Mista305 (I think)

To answer your question, there should be quite a few places to pre-order these figs when they are officially announced. Sideshow has been distributing more and more Hot Toys product, but if they don't get these figures you have several options. Bigbadtoystore is a great option. Great customer service and you don't have to pay until the order is shipped. Toy Square in Canada seems to get everything Hot Toys releases. I think they are an authorized distributor. I believe there also a few dealers who take orders through this site.
Just keep your eyes peeled in the dealers section and you shouldn't miss out on anything.

Plus, for some reason, all the 1/4 busts, while nice, are lesser in sculpt quality to their 1/6 counterparts. Rambo 3 1/6, Joker 1/6 and Batman 1/6 are all better than the busts.

does yulli and the usual crew work on the busts ?.
If not that might be the reason there not as good.
Yulli did the Joker and Rambo bust. Joker might be a bit nicer than the first 1/6 head. As for Rambo, she got Stallone perfectly in the 1/4 bust, but there's a lifelessness to it where the 1/6 has a much more intense and appropriate expression to it.
Yulli doesn't do all of the 1/6 sculpts though. Another artist did the cowled heads for both TDK figures, Yulli only did the Bale heads. I believe the same sculptor as the 1/6 Batman did the bust. It's not bad, just a bit mirproportioned.
None of the 1/4 busts are bad, but surprisingly, where in most instances you'd expect the 1/4 scaled piece to be a step up from the 1/6 because of the greater scale, with HT it's the reverse effect, the 1/4 scale heads are 1/6 quality and the 1/6 heads are 1/4 scale quality.
In the case of the P1 figure, that's fine with me. The bust was a cool piece because I like the P1 most, but I care most about figures of it.
