Hot Toys Predator 1 FINALLY coming

I want the ultimate P1 Predator, ideally just a figure that fully encompasses the original Predator, but knowing HT, it'll take at least 2 figures to gather all of the items. If a variation is worthwhile enough I'll bite, otherwise I'll source the extras off eBay or something.

Fingers crossed for that... I'd even pay more just to not have to worry about some assclown move like having to buy a 2nd figure to get opening mandibles.

I've added more light to the teaser pic and the sculpt doesn't look like
arnold at all !

I think it's close enough, not like the old headsculpt wich was 100% Schwarzenegger. He does have a rather depressed look on his face though , what's with those sad eyes.

I hope the opening mandibles, and somehow an HT P1 should have them, variant or not, are like they are on the P2 figure. The P1 bust are ok, but the P2 roaring look is amazingly badass.

I'm starting to not like the interchangeable idea. IMO with the interchangeable mouth the sculpt doesn't look as good. For example take a look at the P2 elder who has a permanently closed mouth....the sculpt looks amazing and is hands down still has the best Predator headsculpt. The Lost Pred with closed mouth is lacking as is Wolf Pred with open mouth. It would be best if they sculpted the closed and open mouths on separate heads. I would love to see the P1 feature a headsculpt that is on par with P2 elder. Of course if HT does this they will sell them as different versions as opposed to two heads in one box.

I'm not sure what's lacking or all that different with the sculpts on interchangeable heads. Yeah there's a seem, but the overall look on the P2 BD with closed or open mandibles looks great, Wolf looks fine to me. P2 Elder is a great looking portrait but I don't see anything in the mandible area that sets it apart from the rest other than a posing choice perhaps, and he only has that advantage because he wasn't made to wear a helmet, all the other Preds have their closed mandibles shaped to let the masks fit on well.

I wish they'd do a feature similar to the Predalien with the stretchy material so you could have it opened or closed whenever you want. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem getting his mask to fit

i think all the predators will come with open mandibles now as there such a success

I'm guessing the size and shape of the PredAlien head vs. the Predator head allows for the mechanics or the PredAlien probably would have been interchangeable.

Well, I don't think it's so much a pain, but without seeing the mechanics inside the PredAlien's head, they may need more physical space inside than their Predator figure heads have.

I hope P1 comes with the flatter falling dreds like Wolf, that's my only dissappointment with P2 and the AVPs, their dreads puff out so much it makes their heads look huge.

The Predator will still be an excellent figure, and hoping to see HT pull out all the stops. I'm only hoping that they use the P2 Elder type armor, rather than sculpting a new set onto the limbs like they did for Wolf.

I really hope the armour will not be molded on ?!?!

If they do opt for molded on armour, we will definately see two variants...

One with and one without.

I have to disagree. Look at how Wolf roars in the movie and compare it with the HT version. It is almost as if wolf only roars with his lower jaw.

I really don't like the Lost Pred's closed mouth look. I think his teeth may be too big or something, he looks really goofy. I love his open mouth look though.

IMO the interchangeable mouth thing is not that fresh anymore and it would be pretty cool if they gave us two separate heads for the P1. I mean when you are shouting the muscles on your entire face moves and not just the mouth. I don't encourage double dipping but if they gave us a masked and unmasked p1 with brand new headsculpts for each one I'd take the plunge. The P1 deserves some fresh ideas.

Well, given HT's history, I don't see them leaving the interchangeable mandible concept behind, it's worked for them, and it's much cheaper than separate heads.

If they do alternate heads, it'll require either A) changing the Predator heads to connect via a ball and socket system like their humans, or B) 2 separate figures. As they connect now, Pred heads are a ^^^^^ just to put on unless you heat it up.

Likely what he has on under. The pants looks the same. The P1 looks amazing!! Headsculpt looks to rival the P2 elder so far!!
