Anybody have a good source for batteries?

I just paid $15 for 6 LR44s to replace the dome, and that's freakin crazy.

I see Amazon has 10 and 20 packs for way cheaper but I think those are "fake" batteries.

Did it consume the power of the batteries already? I don't leave the batteries inside. I only put them whenever I use the R to make sound & lights.

I only got the figure last weekend. I tried the lights and sounds on Friday and nothing worked anymore.

People have been reporting that if left in the "on" position they drain even if they're not in use. I've turned them "off" each time and a month later they still work. My Sideshow R2 I can leave on for a few months (while not in use) with no issue and the batteries still work when I try them.

If you already know this I apologize but it is important to not only turn this R2 off with the remote but also need to remove the dome and turn the internal switch to the off position until you want to fire him up again. Else he seems to drain the battery to nothing. HT electronics often suck.

Edit: ton ton beat me.

The dome part is kinda annoying to do on a regular basis. I just don't really use them anymore.

Yeah I have probably only used the electronics 4 or 5 times on R2. I never once tried to get the sound to work on the original HT ANH Vader after I read about the hassle of the damn thing :lol

Does anyone know if the HT dome will if on a Hasbro R2? I'm thinking about building a custom X-Wing cockpit and I want to have R2 as part of the build. I have an extra HT dome so if it will fit that would save me some money. Thanks.

I wish the batteries this requires would be different.
After 1 week they run out of juice, and I did not overuse them, far from that...

There is no other kind of battery we could force this to use right?

3x LR44 cannot be replace with let's say... 4LR44 kind of batteries, right?

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00UMDNCAK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL

I guess they won't even fit.

I also want to shut off the projectors lights. 3 projectors, with a very bright light. I don't need them.
But I don't dare to touch the electronics yet.... adding filters to the lights in order to change coulours is one thing, touching cables and or connections is a different thing...

I actually probably wouldn’t use those cheapo batteries either for fear of leakage, unless I was planning to just leave R2 illuminated all day and then swap them out when they die. I think the trick is good legit batteries but you still have to turn the dome off every time you stop using the lights.

From what we’ve been reading I can’t imagine good batteries lasting more than a couple weeks if it’s not switched to “off” after every use.

No it won't fit because the Hasbro R2 is smaller in scale, height & dome diameter.

I have both and here they are...

Possible you could get a Sideshow figure for cheap and mod that to make the dome fit. They're pretty close in scale.
