Dang you! I just caved and ordered one from SS after I saw your post. I was trying to hold out and wait for an OT version but honestly I can’t really tell a difference between the two other than the fact I’ll know the box says TFA. Haha I decided I didn’t wanna take a chance having to buy it aftermarket if they take their time with releasing an OT version.

I love my HT R2; what I’d really like to see is an ESB version with sensor dish and periscope.

Including a magnetic restraining bolt (like in the SS version) would also be nice so it can pose as ANH R2 too.

Oh no doubt -- I expect at least 3 more R2s from Hot Toys, probably more as time goes on.

Here's a couple of pics for the Tamashi and Hot Toys R2 in case anyone wanted to see them both side by side. I posted my view of them in the Tamashi thread. Spoiler: I personally like the Tamashi better overall. HT dome is a better shape, may try to port it over and have a total die cast R2. LoL.

Nice- wish I had them both. They really draw attention to the yellowish color on the HT when together. Otherwise not really noticeable till then.

yeah, gotta go with the hot toys version. Just looks nicer with the weathering - at least, to my eyes.
