Man, they look awesome. That ED looks fantastic, especially with the legs and toes improved. I expected movable toes with the previous. Gotta grab these guys though.

Can't tell how much Robo has improved, but I'm hopefull. ED looks amazing. I just hope they don't make the same mistake with the dome they did last time.

As a RoboCop nut, here are some things I can tell about the new one:
It has more of a RoboCop 2 sculpt mainly because of the missing bolts above the biceps and the missing bolts on the collar bone area. And the overall bulkiness of the figure.
The neck isn't elongated like the first HT sculpt and the head is more proportioned to the body.
He's got individual finger articulation.
I'm sure the legs are a little more articulated, they'd pretty much have to be to pose him sitting in the chair.
The face sculpt is different but it doesn't look like Weller to me.
And you can definitively tell he still has the working leg holster by the gap where it opens.

I think you're right on the changes... probably my biggest concern is that this figure may again be made w/o Weller's likeness. If that is the case I may just stick with the first version.

"OT Preferist." :lol

So does that mean that you're like me in that you aren't an "OT Purist or Elitist" because you don't hate the PT but just find the OT *vastly* superior? :D

That dome on ED...suurrreee does look similar to the previous one =/

I agree! I'm hoping if that one is rubber, it's because they haven't finished the new dome and threw the old rubber one on to display it. But that seems unlikely so maybe it just LOOKS rubbery.

If they don't have the rights to do a proper Weller likeness, I'm hoping the head pops off relatively easily. Because some sculptor on these boards is going to earn whatever price he's asking to do a custom unmasked head for me. :lecture

Hopefully it's not rubber, that would suck. The dome on my ED now is slowly coming apart. Not as bad as some of the other I've seen though.

Those look fantastic so far! I hope the final products look as good as the protos! :clap

There's really that much difference between suits from R1 to R2, huh? I didn't realize (except for color and shine obviously). Why would HT give us a R2 specific figure and then give us he chair from R1, and ED-209 again?

The chair were used in R2 too.
And R2 is a logical choice since there will be CAIN.

The R2 suit was reworked and tweaked a little from the first one. With the first suit, everything black that you see is a one piece thick rubber suit. Minus the gloves which were separate. And the armor pieces were strapped on over that. So to make it lighter and more comfortable, the suit for R2, Weller wore a thin black leotard and the black parts of that suit are more like vacuformed plastic pieces and inserts for the elbow and knee joints. Plus a few minor tweaks to the armor pieces to give it a smoother look like leaving of a few bolts and the new paint job.
As far as the chair, they used the same one in all three movies and
ED-209 was in all three (more of a cameo in R2). I'm assuming the R2 specific design is to go along with the Cain figure they're threatening to make.

HT does that kind of thing. Look at the 1:4 scale endoskeleton, its supposedly from The Terminator but they never intended to actually look at the endoskeleton from that film - rather they just made a fairly generic one that has more in common with the particulars of the T2 endoskeleton, using other companies pieces as referance. I'm still buying it, but an endoskeleton is an endoskeleton to them and I'm sure likewise here, Robocop is just Robocop. They don't care if they're making it under the banner of Robocop but are using Robocop 2 or 3 referance.
