If its a shabby piece of plastic throne then will be a reasonable price. But a quality throne AND with lights and sound? This will cost a pretty penny.
Also if they do add sound please add it to the chair and not the figure. My ANH Vader never came anywhere near those batteries due to the nightmare reviews with his electronics.

I also have the SSC throne. HT version must be a real improvement over it to get that instead. I mean overall design, as I don't care about electronics.

well i just hope they display him at SDCC with all the others imperial guards,luke and ROTJ Vader if they're going to do him. i think it'll be a must for HT. too good an opportunity to pass up.

Definately. I can see that being the case here. I think I'd definately go for the Emperor with the chair and all. I hope we get Force lighting effects as well. That being said, i also hope he has 2 head sculpts; one neutral and one for when he is using the force lighting.

When you think about it, there are so many ways they can mess this up. 
Not include sculpts with appropriate expressions (one neutral and one snarling), not include Force lightning at all, etc.

Yes for sure. The more time this thread has to think about what extra things could/should be added makes the job for HT to please harder.
But then it's a thankless industry to be in, as satisfying everyone never happens.

No of course. Even with a neutral and snarling expression sculpt, I'm sure there are some who are going to probably wish it had a sculpt that included a sinister smirk instead.
Including FL effects with this figure seems like a pretty obvious thing to me (it'd be like not including the magic effects with a Scarlet Witch figure). And that being the case, including a snarling sculpt would seem necessary, being that he'd look pretty weird shooting FL with a stoic expression; much like he would standing in a relaxed pose holding his cane with a gritted teeth snarl on his face that looks as if he's shooting FL instead.
You could always go the sinister smirk route and have that be the only expression, as I think that'd kind of cover both a FL expression and a relaxed pose expression adequately, but I think there's probably more people who would prefer one sculpt with a neutral expression and one with a snarl.

I have the JazzInc throne on order as well. Just Palps for me, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if they perhaps don't even do a throne at all, and offer Emperor by himself and then an Emperor + Royal Guard two pack, with that being the only way to get a RG (similar to Finn and a Riot Trooper).
Or do an Emperor by himself, Emperor + RG two pack, then offer the throne separately.

I could also see this happening and the throne being a Howard One-off for photos and convention displays.

I've never seen Hot Toys do an accessory separate. But guess there's a first time for everything.

Or they may tease it, like they teased Rey's Speeder and two Falcon cockpits, and then never come out with it.
I'd be super pissed if they only offered the RG with the Emperor. I'm not totally sure I want Palps yet, but I definitely want a Guard. I'd be fine though if they made the throne an exclusive with the Emperor as I'd want both if I decide to get him.
Interested to see how much the HT throne is, and how much more accurate it is than the SSC (which isn't bad, but isn't great accuracy-wise either.)
HT hasn't done many pieces like this for their SW line, and the minor 1/6 accessories they've done (mouse droid, interrogation droid, Yoda's lantern etc.) have all been off scale-wise. Even the HT Indy podium wasn't all that accurate. But I'm guessing a major/bigger piece like this would be different though.
I got the SSC throne super-cheap, so the HT will need to be pretty great to make me want to pull the trigger.
The fig is an insta-buy - can't wait to see what HT has pulled off. Glad I held off on the SSC Palps and looking forward to the full reveal and replacing my old "place holder" modded Hasbro Palps, but he's not too happy about it....

Haha... he cost all of $20, but he did get the Joker cut-to-the-mouth treatment to make the mouth look like he's "talking," so there was the hours spent modding him (a Hasbro fig
.) He's lurked in my shelf background for a long time. Looking forward to having a Palps that can take the front and center. For you guys that have done such an amazing job modding your SSC Palps, deciding on whether or not to get the HT Palps is a tougher choice.
