Hot Toys ROTJ Emperor Palpatine

I have the JazzInc throne on order as well. Just Palps for me, too.

Any pics or thread for JazzInc's throne? Curious to see this version too.

Haha... he cost all of $20, but he did get the Joker cut-to-the-mouth treatment to make the mouth look like he's "talking," so there was the hours spent modding him (a Hasbro fig.) He's lurked in my shelf background for a long time. Looking forward to having a Palps that can take the front and center.

For you guys that have done such an amazing job modding your SSC Palps, deciding on whether or not to get the HT Palps is a tougher choice.

well if I do I can always have two different display options to choose from so we shall see when that time comes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they perhaps don't even do a throne at all, and offer Emperor by himself and then an Emperor + Royal Guard two pack, with that being the only way to get a RG (similar to Finn and a Riot Trooper).

Or do an Emperor by himself, Emperor + RG two pack, then offer the throne separately.

I bet they wouldn't do that. The Emperor and throne seems like the more likely route they'd go for a deluxe set. Royal Guards will probably sell fine enough on their own. A single and two pack of Guards seems like the set we'll get like the other Troopers.

The way HT likes to do combo packs, Emps and RG seems like a good combo. I base this on combo packs such as Finn and the RT, Rey and BB-8 or TWS Captain America Strike Suit and Steve Rogers. However, from what I do see on this forum, there does seem to be a high interest in the RG by itself so I'm guessing there probably wouldn't be a lot of happy people if the only way to snare a RG was via a combo pack with Emps.

Good point though about possibly treating the RGs like troopers and offering them as either a single figure or a two pack.

I can see a ERG set with Battlefront accessories like the T-21, smart rocket and homing shot rifle. That would actually tempt me big time.

Im thinking a HT emperor will surely blow all previous versions out of the water. Like pretty much every other figure they do.

But let's break this down a bit. Most people will be after the Vader / Luke lightsaber crossed pose in front of the emperor. And also the imperial guards on both sides of the throne.

So to be able to create this I would anticipate

Emperor and throne - somehow as deluxe. (Emperor will also come separate for those only wanting him)
Then a single or two pack for the imperial guards
Luke we know is single.
Vader will of course also be single

This is the only way I see IT doing it. unless of course they decided to do a DX Emperor with throne, two headsculpts, force lightening etc etc.

Either way it's going to be an expensive little collection.

But incredibly epic !!!

Even a Klaatu or Squidhead would be very hard to pass on if it looked as accurate as we know they are capable of.

Will be interesting to see if they go that deep or not. I have a feeling they won't, considering how many other new figures they need to cover with new films coming.

Leia Boushh will come. I am hopeful for a Skiff Guard Lando.

They would 100% sell through before any Disney Star Wars character offering.

Oh yeah for sure. But I think Hot Toys has the simple problem of manpower / resources to get the current films covered and to also do the classic figures. I think Budget Stark said HT releases a figure a week on average. That's a fair amount of work.

I guess they also need to consider how many figures a typical star wars fan can buy in say a year.

But im with you 100% bring on the Lando Skiff and any others I'll be in line for them !! Great time to be a Star Wars collector !!

oh yeah it`s great to be a star wars collector. a friend of mine made me a bunch of those skiff guards and they are of hot toys quality. even if they did them I would pass as they are that good.

I wouldn't pick up any of the aliens because of space limitations. I collect mainly the heroes different looks and the bad guys. Troops are an exception cause they are so iconic. Aka Stormtroopers, snowtroopers, royal guards, and scout troopers.

I feel the same. I'd probably have a little doubt over a Lando figure too. Thinking in three (for display) maybe if we had a Leia Boushh a Lando Skiff Guard could stand with Fett ROTJ. a Bespin display would ideally just be Luke, Han & Leia although I missed the Bespin Luke so that might be a way off for me.

I highly doubt we will see a Lando.....it will not sell in the Asian markets for the same reason Finn did not sell........
