Ordered. Just to let you know I was being serious not sarcastic.

I'm a little surprised he isn't sold out already. I ordered mine last week. :)

I got the regular, prefer him standing with his cane over the throne. The figure is great, gonna be a classic. Hot Toys ticked all the boxes on this one but a second headsculpt.. that would probably swayed me if they put it in the deluxe.

Yeah, it's an awesome figure standing, really shows the figure better than the throne imo, though the throne is an awesome piece too.

I did replace the hands though - they're just too oversized to me.

I prefer him standing as well. The throne imo would simply make for a good background piece. Which at that point it’d be a lot to pay for simply a background piece.

I don’t have room for the throne in my collection either way, but it works out because as I just mentioned, I‘d prefer him standing anyway. The expression on the sculpt to me just doesn’t fit a seated pose on his throne. The expression to me has “good....good” written all over it from when he was standing up and following Vader and Luke around during their DSII duel.

I just feel the throne is too iconic to pass on, whether you have him seated or standing next to it. But I absolutely love environment type pieces.

Yeah, it's also one of the best (ie accurate and well done) accessory pieces HT has done. It has a few errors on the base and the color is a bit too black but overall it's an amazing piece and the light-up feature looks perfect.

I liked it but it had a manufacturing flaw so I had to return it then realized I just didn't have the room for it (too... many... figures....:lol) due to its depth so I didn't seek a replacement. I spent days playing with it for display and I kept coming back to the idea that Palps was far more effective standing, then yeah, as SS says it becomes this area-gulping backdrop.

The other thing I would say about the throne (esp the HT one which is very black vs the more gunmetal SSC version) is it did suck the light from my display.

These are the new hands I found for Palps - I've just given them a quick pale wash to see how they look but I'll add the grey/flesh/veins wash this weekend (the light is hitting that right hand very hard - it's not that white.) You can't really tell from this angle, but these hands are about 60-70% the size of the stock HT Palps hands. The HT hands just look too big no matter how I posed them. I like that these hands are smaller and more slender.

Though the HT figure is a bit too short for Palps, so maybe giving him a bit more height might help the stock hands look more correctly sized.

All that Hot toys had to do was make the throne out of fabric and not plastic and the height issue would had been fixed but also I washed the sith tunic in the delicate settings in a sock back to get rid of the dye so it won?t stain the fig! no issues so far!

The Emperor with throne chair flanked with x2 Royal guards are the must have in every collectors who love SW.

I bought a small cutting board that matched the wood of my cabinet and placed that under the throne so his feet didn?t look like they were dangling off the shelf. I don?t think it takes up as much space as it seems.

Does it vibrate gently for a circulation-increasing massage? By the look on Palps' face it certainly looks like it. :lol

I agree that Palps standing looks best which is what I did (my pics a few pages back), but the throne is still a must have to me. I have a single Royal Guard but choose not to add him to the display as I think it takes away from Palps who just dominates the display on his own.

Yeah, I think it gives the figure it's due. When I put him in the throne, he was kind of visually absorbed by it. Perfect lighting that hits him just right (like in the movie) obviously helps hugely but I didn't have the ability to do that in my display.

There's also the sense that there's something wrong with the way the fig sits in the throne - I had a really hard time posing him just right, and when I did find a good pose, his feet were hanging. It might be that the real throne had cushions that he sank into or something. Some people lowered their throne, but from the ref pics I saw, the HT throne was aleardy slightly on the low side. So there was something up with the way the two went together that I couldn't quite figure out.

I still think for that reason the very best pose is Palps standing in front of the throne as if he's just stood up, because it's a really superb accessory, esp lit up.

Did anyone make Palps taller? It seemed to me he was at least 1/4" too short, but he's a kind of shriveled/hunched guy and he rarely stands next to anyone so I guess it's not as noticeable. You can see in bts pics next to Vader and others that he's taller than you'd assume.

For my display I first tried to have him standing and the throne in the back, it didn't work in my case. Palps looks very nice standing, but I totally prefer him on his throne with 2 guards (and 2 ROTJ type Stormies) on his sides. My cabinets and shelves help a bit with his dark figure, as they are not white or other light colors, and thus the Emperor can always stay in a bit of shadow like in ROTJ. The throne also has that top light which adds a bit of extra light, but is too small to do anything for real.

The key thing with the throne is to position the Emperor to look as natural as possible, by having the hood more over the face, the gray clothes to be seen a bit underneath the black robe, and most important to try to lower him down as much as possible for the feet to touch the ground.

Even with my troop building obsession you have me beat, I only have two of those guys. But it makes me question if I am doing something wrong, why three?

Two in neutral guard pose to flank Palps and one in deleted scene "attack pose" with pike aimed of course.:dunno:lol

Looks like it's best to get them now, as a quick search of the bigger retailers indicates these have Royal Guards have sold out. I think every OT trooper that has been sold out for a period of time has spiked up in price. I just found a good deal on a second Snowtrooper Commander this past week. It's not the HT prototype but it's not bad. And I have given up hope that there will ever be another made.
