Dang it. Just noticed they used the “shuttered” lens design from the Tech Suit eyes. That kinda bothers me. Unless we assume Peter made shuttered lens just like his old ones in this new suit.

Thoughts?

Yes they are the shutter lens eyes, and the figure includes interchangeable pairs as per the product listing, even though they aren’t pictured.

In my opinion, the expressive eyes is the best thing the Holland Trilogy brought to the Spider-Man costume so I’m glad they’re included here.

Yeah prior to the whole CG eyes in Deadpool and Spidey there was such a disconnect with immobile masks, GG in the first Spidey being the worst example.

You could be right but boy I hope that’s not the case now that they have an opportunity to give us a Holland Spider-Man with the neck properly showing. If they really want my money - they should include an all-new Holland sculpt. The one they’ve been using is good but they’re shipped it with like six different figures now and I think they can top it.

And while I’m dreaming, if the suit were stretchy fabric so it didn’t bunch up so much in dynamic poses - it could be the ultimate Holland Spider-Man figure.

Oh wow you turned out to be correct Spanbauer! ;) What else do you see in you magic crystal ball? It looks like like they're going all out on this figure. I was sort of expecting a bare-bones release that only included some hands, webs and a stand, but I'm more than glad they're making it more special. I think the new portrait looks fantastic, and just as you mention the previous one is very good but has been included with plenty of figures and they almost always seem to top a previous sculpt even if the preceding one was also top notch. I also think the new sculpt looks aged a bit more to my eye, and I think that's appropriate since, for me, when he visits Aunt May's grave I noted how much older he looked compared to say CW/Homecoming.

One of their best sculpts I think. So glad they didn’t reuse the same sculpt for the 8th time! It was good but I knew they could top it and they did. And they finally did the neck right!

Agreed! I'm fine with the neck and for me I don't mind if it were done either way.

This seems like a fantastic choice for people who just want one Spider-Man figure to represent the character in their collection.

I’ve seen many folks struggle to find just the right one, especially if they like the MCU and comics pretty equally and also like Holland’s Spider-Man.

Much agreed! I think this suit ticks the most boxes for a more classic looking aesthetic, plus it's looking to be a phenomenal figure!

Looks nice! I've got too many Spidey figs already, so what's another one?!

I know what you mean. Still have the R&B, iron spider vg, iron spider mcu, homecoming tech, far from home suit, vg classic, vg scarlet, vg advanced, and vg 2099.

There is no such thing as overkill :rotfl

Lol well unfortunately being right is going to cost me a lot of money; they really did go all out and I had to put my money where my mouth is after they basically delivered every thing I could have hoped for and more. Never even imagined they’d give him the rolling eyes! Had to spring for the diorama base too because I appreciate the effort and think it’ll make the set feel all the more special when it all arrives in a big deluxe box.

Yeah - Holland has definitely lost his boyish look by the end of his trilogy and this new sculpt reflects that. He probably looks a little too young in the Far From Home sculpt in hindsight, but it’s still good.

Show us your entire Captain Marvel collection.

Which I don’t actually think is overkill but only because I know you. :lol

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Truer words have never been spoken :lol

I wish I could, and it'd be cool to see all of them laid out en masse, but all of my new/boxed figures are stored away, plus some of my loose ones are packed away in (figure safe) foam, so I only have a few of my loose figures displayed in the meantime :ROFLMAO::LOL:

:lol Just when you think they're going to do one thing, only for them to actually do what you're hoping for!

Yeah it seems a bit surprising (but good) to me they're giving that feature to more figures now; it is a nice feature to have when they implement it well. I was playing around with my Alita Battle Angel (one of the few previous non DX figures to have it, if I'm not mistaken) and was reminded how awesome it is get more expression with a change in position of the eyes (even if it can be a bit fiddly).

Man the new rooftop diorama with snow is such a welcome inclusion! I friggin' prefer dio bases, and this one delivers!

Agreed!!

i showed this to my son who is a hardcore Spidey fan and his main comment why is that base so small? I get that we try to save space on our displays but its a fair point, its a rooftop and its tiny!

The base would also look good if you have a miles moralesfigure
