Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + Interview (X-Wing

It's not like Star Wars is a big license or anything. It's not like they could bring out 5 figures at SDCC and sell an assload of each. It's not like they haven't been teasing us with 1/6th figures for years now.

Seriously... WTF?

Seriously you guys need to have some patience, a week ago you had no clue HT had the license, and now you are calling it a failure they don't have anything on display... Do you realize how big of a deal it is that they secured the license on their own in the first place... Jeez

They've had the license since 2011.

Nope, not true. They have had a deal with SS since 2011. But this is different altogether.

They had a joint license that was in collaboration with hasbro and sideshow. It was limited.

Now it isn't. However, they want to remain fair and not throw multiples of the same figures at us.

I imagine it will start slow and then when vii hits, they still blow out up.... Along with our wallets.

I would assume the same, seems logical.

I guess we all hoped that during the years when they were working with Sideshow, they would have been developing more thank just Bespin Luke. In fact, Howard had been teasing us for literally years that there were more figures being worked on and that Anakin and Han were next, and possibly Padme after that. Those figures he teased us about should have been ready to reveal along with their big announcement. Instead we get these little derpy things. Why did they put their energy on those instead of 1:6 figures that were probably already done, at the very least as prototypes?

They've got the opportunity to make them now - that's what should be the main thing.

Who cares what they've shown right now!?! :lol

Limited, maybe. But they were still (supposedly) working on projects like Anakin and possibly Han.

As per your wanting to be "fair" comment, if you're talking about Howard's comment about other companies and not wanting to conflict, that is PR code. I'm in marketing, and no commercial entity is altruistic to that extent. I personally take that to mean "We don't want to step on our 'good friend's' toes. Y'know, our friend that helped us get this license and US recognition, as well as our primary distributors."

I trust HT to deliver remarkable figures of the core characters. I trust Sideshow to bring us the rest. Period.

Nothing to worry about for HT fans and SSC fans (of which I am both).

Let's all take a deep breath now.

I will say the little deformed figures aren't bad looking if you are into that sort of thing... but I've never had any interest in those and to me that "style" has really run it's course. The Medicom ones were ugly, the Cosbabies are ugly, I just don't get it :lol :huh
