oh man, seriously haven't been this impressed in any figures for a very long time - Bravo Hot Toys!

I could see the exclusive set going to WL pretty quickly after folks see these pics

Ok, I've seen all the awesome pictures. It's 11AM in the Eastern time zone, so old news. Now more importantly, when are the Sandtroopers coming?

Yes, this exactly! I'm passing on the regular stormtroopers at least for now, but ordering the Sandtroopers as soon as they're available! The only thing Hot Toys is missing to release them at this point is the backpack. The trooper, pauldron & weapons are all done already; just add weathering!

No doubt HT's quality is going to be better in probably all aspects, and especially handling it close-up. But for me they won't be huge differences which would jump out for shelf display viewing from 5 feet away. Also I'm no army builder and don't even like having 2 of the same character on display. And these things ain't cheap

I have the HT Shadow Trooper and have has both the Sideshow and Medicom versions, as well as every Sideshow Sandtrooper, Stormtrooper, and a Marmit figure. Purely objectively speaking, the level of quality of the HT figure overall is so far above its predecessors that it is like real Japanese wagyu beef to their Taco Bell "beef" product.

I still have all the Sideshow Sandies and you're right, they look fine together from a distance. But anyone that doesn't pick up the HT version because another company did the Stormtrooper before is doing themselves a disservice.

Totally a joke. I don't think an entire can of hairspray would be enough to hold those bodies up. A lot of tape and/or glue, maybe. Or do a body swap.

I still love all my sideshow sandies and have no plans on getting rid of them no matter how great the HT ones are (and I'm definitely getting the HT versions to throw in my display)
