Had paint issues on my stormtroopers too (first HT acquisition too). My local seller couldn't find any help from Sideshow but managed to get me replacement parts nonetheless.

The ST I got was also my first from HT or anyone for that matter, luckily I didn't see any issues. Hopefully they correct it for you.

Minimalist collection featuring a shorty!

I received my first Hot Toys figure today. It looks great but the "finish" is chipped right in the middle of the helmet (at the "nose"). Anyone had this issue? I contacted the seller so I'll see that he can do. I am disappointed because the figure looks great but at that price I expected a better quality control. Here are some pictures, I don't know if you can see it in the pictures but there is a small black line where the finish was removed.

You definitely need replacement. Isn't something similar happening on the right tube where looks like a hair crack (or is just a hair)? I had my own issues with my single HT Stormie, but nothing paint related, just unglued parts easily fixable.

Aw, that sucks, I hope you get that resolved. :duff

Anyone bought from loontentoys?

I've only bought spare parts from him and he's been great. HOWEVER, I've heard that he's been terrible with actual sets. For that reason I would be cautious if you're planning on buying a set like this (as they're also harder to get now)

Unfortunately I preordered the set from him, but he keeps telling me HT has not supplied him yet :impatient:

Same experience here. I ordered the single trooper in february to get it early and then wait out a good deal on a 2-pack. By the middle of july I had already had the 2-pack a month and still nothing new from loontentoys so I asked for a refund. I felt I had waited patiently enough.

I had no problem getting my money back once I asked for it so I still have a mostly positive opinion of him. Since the deadline for ebay complaints had come and gone he asked that I start a paypal dispute (or whatever you call it) and I had my money back in less than a day, and considering the time difference that was pretty fast.

We had dealings previously, also a pre-order that worked just fine. One of my better ebay experiences really, and last I looked feedback was still good so it's a definite possibility that he just got shafted badly on his Stormtrooper order from his supplier. You would think that it would occur to him that an automatic refund for the people who had waited for six months would be smart but I guess the possible loss of the order felt even worse than the bad reputation.

There is no scamming vibe at all from loontentoys IMO, I always got quick answers when I messaged using ebay the whole time up until the time I was refunded.

The right tube is OK, it was some "fiber fabric" (I am not sure it is the exact term, English is not my native language) but I removed it now, not sure where that came from. I am talking with the seller and it seems I'll have to send the whole package back and he will send me a new one (and he will pay for shipping). I'll let you know how it turns out. The only annoying thing is I paid import taxes so it looks like I might have to fill some paper to ask for a refund to the Canada Border Services Agency.

You can probably fill out a customs form or something that you send with the package back. When the seller sends the new package he adds that same paper to the invoice and you won't have to pay tax/customs the second time, no refund needed.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Let's see how my refund request goes then.

I finally unpacked my trooper double pack and set them up with SS Vader and bounty hunters today. All these figs have been boxed up until today so I'll likely refine the display, posing and futzing over time.
