Why did they make him look like a 15 year old hamill that can grow a beard?

I actually was interested in this even though I hated this movie.

I personally wasn’t interested in this one regardless, but I think it’s between this sculpt and the ANH sculpt for the title of worst Luke sculpt.

He looks pretty good with the hood on though, based on the scene from when he first appeared as a silhouette to Leia.

I love that headsculpt honestly. Is it 100%? nope, most of them aren't... but does this work for an idealized version of Luke Skywalker? Hell yeah

Looks even better in Hong’s photos, except his pics highlight how short the beard is. Most of the promo pics don’t even look like the paint was finished compared to those.

A major flaw IMO was the lack of eye bags to give him a more aged look. I’m fine with the beard but it seems like the promo/proto pictures washed them out. They’re more apparent in JCs photos which is great. Consider me satisfied.

The JC Hong photos are an improvement, for sure. Still not where I would like it to be (the depth in the eyes and cheeks is missing), but better.

Those J.C. Hong Instagram photos look WAY better than the official promo pics! Keeping my fingers crossed that the production piece looks much more like the Instagram pics than like it does in the promo pics.

Yeah that does look a lot better. The age spots and bags under the eyes are more apparent and the expression seems a bit more intense as well.

True, but this is one time when I think the lighting was working against the sculpt and making it look a lot younger and softer than it really is.

Or at least I really hope that's what happened.

Dont have a Luke yet.. considering this or ROTJ Luke. Didnt like Last Jedi at all, but this "what if" take on the character I can live with.

Almost a tease.. imagine if they made the new trilogy with enthusiasm, a story to tell and imagination rather then the studio formulated slaying of OT characters Optimus Prime style so the kids can buy toys of the new crew

It's not so much a what if as it is a when. Since Luke's falling out with Kylo is fairly recent history, it suggests that this version of Luke really did exist in the years prior. That's certainly what I'll be thinking of when I put him on the shelf with an ROTJ lightsaber in hand.

...Assuming I can get over the headsculpt.

A fair point.

I'd also note that it's not realistic to expect a revised sculpt. Sure, it happens sometimes, but it's rare. If this is a deal breaker for anyone, I would suggest they not pre order. Better than pre ordering and being disappointed when there's no revision.

Pfft... Your bot is wrong. It was Luke. The fact that he was using such an advanced Jedi trick as intergalactic astral projecting makes this too awesome for the Russians to understand.
