Hmmm. I'll probably pick this up and just switch this headsculpt with Jeff Bridges Luke. I like the grizzled look. Unless it somehow comes out looking like Hong's photos.
Wow. Who would have thought HT's process with 1/6 Chewies - where each would be worse than the last - would be extended to Luke?
If you were to put that head on a generic suit-wearing body, nobody would pick that as TLJ Luke. Whoever said it looks a bit like RJ is right.
Maybe it'll get a tweak before release - HT has done it before.

This is unbelievably horrible. I honestly feel like it was an intentional miss. Maybe a licensing issue with Mark’s likeness or something. It’s WAY too far off to be an accidental miss. Something’s up here...

I actually was wondering if I was crazy thinking that but it’s sorta true. The JC Hong picture does look better but who knows what the final release will look like. It seems to me like 9 times out of 10 the in-hand product is better. I’m not overly enthused about this figure either way but may consider adding it to my collection just because it is a version of Luke.

Rian Johnson Luke for the win, his ultimate revenge. He didn’t just ruin our franchise, he even ruined our doll displays.
Seriously though, the sculpt is off. It looks like Luke had about four too many facelifts. The beard looks off and the eye area. Also, don’t kid yourselves, no tweak will happen. This is the sculpt you are getting. Hot toys days of redoing sculpts are over, it seems. I love Luke, so even though I wouldn’t buy this because I’m not a fan of the sequels, I did hope it would be the first luke homerun. Rotj luke is very good, just not a homerun,IMO.

The sculpt on the regular TLJ Luke looks really good to me. If the final product comes out looking like the promo, I’d give that one the nod as being the best Luke sculpt. I don’t think it’s a licensing issue; just HT attempting to do their idealized version of characters’ faces, namely older characters. Not sure why they only do it on some though and not on others. As mentioned, TLJ Luke looks pretty good to me.

It does fare better with the hood up. We should also bear in mind that while the Hong Instagram shots certainly look better, the production portraits ALWAYS end up "softer" so bid adieu to those bag-n-wrinkles details.

I've got the ROTJ Luke, so no problem here. I'll display ROTJ Luke with the light-up arm and motion blade effect, and Crait Luke with the loose Saber and standard blade.

Probably because with the hood up, roughly 60% of the sculpt is concealed.
Just like my TFA Luke and ANH Obi-Wan look better with their hoods up.

Disappointed with the sculpt. Like everyone is saying, you need to also factor that proto's have way more detail that will be washed out in the molding process.
Paint won't be as good as JC Hong's hand paint. Man... was looking forward to this, but gonna pass as is. Hermit Luke will have to make due.

Anyone else think the hair looks a little too wind-swept? Like, almost slicked back lol... It's not that way at all in the movie.
I foresee many customs of this HS to fit this figure if the Ahch-To Luke production sculpt turns out close to this...
