Lightup backdrop for $50 more lol. How much was Death Trooper deluxe with tons of accessories last time ?

Great to see a new HT stormie, but I would have far, far preferred that they try to get the "stunt" helmet look right rather than this sculpt, which is decent and a definite improvement over the pretty sub-par ANH version but feels like a cross between the HT Rogue One stormie helmet and the ROTJ version they've showed at various cons previously.

I'm up for two of these (and probably would have preferred the more ROTJ-specific sculpt shown previously,) but what everyone really wants is the classic ANH stormie stunt look, which screams both "stormtrooper" and "Star Wars."

I agree completely, I would have loved a more accurate ROTJ Stormie and/or definitely an accurate ANH stunt helmet. That being said, I still think this new one is pretty great and I won't be able to resist getting one or two.

Hope the backside is sculpted plastic and not something cheap.

Be great if it comes apart so you can use both sides at once.

Pre-ordered 2 x Deluxe from KGHobby. 37 USD more for the backdrop sounds good enough to me. Need a death star "diorama" anyway
Now let's hope that the backdrops are two pieces...

I'm in for two of these hybrid ROTJ Stormies, but regular versions, no need for the backdrop. I hoped they wold keep the old proto helmet which was more accurate than this new one, at least to ROTJ.

This must be like the hundredth release of a Stormtrooper. And it’s as exciting now as a new Iron Man released would be.

PS if they can’t get it right by now, they’re never going to get it right.

From OT we only got ANH Stormtrooper, a Sandtrooper, and a Spacetrooper. And the 3-4 weird colored ones, plus the RO versions, which I don't care about. But in the end we only got ONE regular OT Stormtrooper, and in the OT movies there were 3 versions. And no, this is not that accurate either.

I'm actually glad that this isn't 100% accurate, because the ROTJ film suit has some serious problems.

Will probably pick up a deluxe down the line, but what I really, really want HT to do (as far as troopers are concerned) is a Scout 2-pack!

Can anyone provide a link to reference and comparison images of the Stormtrooper suits. I keep reading this is not 100% accurate to ROTJ, I personally do not look in such details but it would be great to know!!!

Yep, I love this look. To my eye it is the most aesthetic looking of the lot. Rogue One didn't look right to me. The ANH troopers I have are OK, but this looks most like the Sandtrooper who is my favourite look bar none.

We know Hot Toys sometimes like to take artistic licence on some small design points. Looks like this is what happened here. Unlike JKNO, I didn't like the original proto mouth look.

So I think I'll get one for the main display, and use the original ANH troopers for a separate display with ANH Vader (and Rogue One Vader gloves) in Joost's Tantive IV hallway.

I had no idea the ANH version was considered sub-par.
I like the look of this one, but I'm not a fan of the black mouth, I always liked the teeth better.

To me a Trooper is basically just a Trooper. I know there are differences but I don’t care that much. I’ll stick this with my ANH Trooper more than likely.

I have two torso-abs-crotch sets from the original ANH figures that I used to spice up my Sideshow figures, so I might try to turn these guys into ANH troopers.
The helmet differences really aren't that noticeable, except for the teeth, and the soles of the shoes can be easily painted black.
