Any way you look at it fellas, its just a collectable poseable figure or even a toy if you want to look at it in the simplest terms... If you want **** accuracy down to the minute detail then go pay £2500 and buy the full scale 6 foot 3 inch statuette. I was told the suit for that was moulded directly from the TDKR suit so there wont be any complaints. Who cares if it dosnt look like Christan Bale, even though i personally think the smiling face plate and frowning face plate do look like the actor. Someone isnt gonna walk in your room, look at this figure and say hold up, that bat symbol is 0.2mm too low!! or how big his shoulder pads are. What they will say is Goddamn!! How cool is that!!??
I want to add at this point that the shoulders lookd too "wide" on my DX12, so i took off that part of the suit and put it in a bowl of tap hot water for 20-30 seconds. When i put it back on they sat flat and looked dead on accurate to the movie. We all think that at the prices we pay, we deserve the absolute best and accurate duplicate of the original character, and thats true we do deserve it. But keep an open mind that some odd times they might get a couple of things slightly off but are easily fixable at home (as explained above on shoulder pads) if you think the pads on this arnt to your accurate liking when it comes then get your engineering head on and look at the easiest way to fix it without damage to the figure.
Look at how many videos are on youtube of people customising figures they have? I mean i bought a wired cape for my DX and called it a customisation, but some guys are cutting and chizeling away at figures they spent hundreds on just to get a bit more screen accuracy lol i wouldnt personally do that lol
Im not saying your wrong to point out the conpanies product faults, but its just a figure that will stand in your display and trust me, it doesnt matter even if the faces are wrong or the pads are too big. People will look in amazement and excitement at this figure and big you up for having it
Why should I have to pay more because I want a figure that I believe HT are fully capable of making. It might be impressive to you, but some of us aren't willing to shell out $450+ for a product that isn't up to snuff. I don't know why there are so many HT apologists out there, who make it a point to block progress at every turn by saying how great HT is. The only reason I say this stuff is because I like the figure, and because, even though some people might think it's fine, and might not like people complaining about it, even they deserve a better product.
Before you pull the "it's just a big toy" card, I would like to direct you to the DX 09 thread. That is Michael Keaton. From the eyes to every mouthpiece, to the cowl and proportions, it is dead on. That figure is 12" tall. This one is over 18" tall. So, before you tell me to save up for 1/1 props, anymore, I'm going to say, again, that I feel like the faults with this figure are completely avoidable with a little effort on HT's part:
-the cowl: why hand sculpt it when you could scan the ACTUAL screen used cowl to make a 100% accurate version?
-the eyes: resculpt his eye lids to where he's squinting. It's an easy fix for the bug eyes, and it's accurate to the "panther" look he always used in the films.
-the faces: hard work and a lot of reference. If they can nail Keaton's look after one try, there should be no reason for this thing to not look like Bale after they've attempted it 6 times before. If you can't, for the life of you, get your team to produce a decent Bale likeness on all 3 faceplates, find someone who does, and commission them to do it, just like they got Kato to do the DX 2.0.
-the proportions: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The TrueType is one of the best 1/6th bodies out there. Just scale it up to 1/4 scale, and you've got this area all set.
-the shoulder pads: a minor quibble. Just scale them down a bit; resculpt the bottom half, if you have to, then you're set.
-the bat symbol: 0 excuses on this one. People found the same problem with the DX 12, and you corrected it. That should be the case here, too.
