Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman [QS001] - Full Reveal & Specs

Ok! Don't buy it... so simple.You have no right to say I blindly buy figures. If you want the perfect figure, it is your problem. I want things to be changed like the cowl BUT i' 'll buy this figure for sure. This will be the best 1/4 tdk batman yet and I can't wait EB to release ( if they release) their tdk batman.

If EB was making the TDK suit in 1/4 I would have thought they would have "ambushed" the HT release by now showing a teaser pic or two. I don't think EB is doing this. They are doing Robocop and more BL...but I don't see this mentioned in their plans. Last year it was hot and heavy with HT and EB going back and forth on new annoucements..this year- zilch!

And THIS is why HT does what it does.
People just blindly buying their stuff and pretending everything is perfect when it clearly isn't.
I have my doubts with this figure, WILL NOT buy it (or preorder it ) until I see any in hand pics. And that, I believe, is how a customer should speak to a company (with our wallets) so that they know we are not buying into the hype anymore. This things are expensive, this batman is almost double of what the EB one costed me, and yes, while it has some problems, they are completely overshadowed by one very simple fact: the EB BB 1/4 Batman looks like everything a 1/4 BB Batman should look like.Not my opinion, not how I personally want to see it, but a dead, cold FACT.

However, I don't think it is a matter of pretending or being in denial that everything is ok, it is more that we really want the character and Hot Toys knows this so we have no choice but to buy from them if we really want the character. Otherwise right now it is either have that character or nothing in 1/4 scale.

While I agree that it would be good to send a message to Hot Toys and not pre order or buy their stuff, it just isn't realistic. People complain so much about the Hot Toys MOS figure yet it is nearly pre sold out because they are hoping that Hot Toys changes the body and even if they don't they will still most likely buy it because they like the character. Nevertheless, I probably won't buy this figure until I see in hand pics either, I want to know if it will be in scale with the EB Joker.

Hard not to want to pay homage to greatness. QC issues aside, if you're a fan of the Begins suit, the Nolan trilogy, or Batman in general, It doesn't really get much better than EB Bats aside from a statue.

I really don't believe they had any intention of trying to go head to head with Hot Toys. For one, there are a ton of licenses outside of "Batman" to explore. And why try to compete with Hot Toys if it's not necessary. EB can get around to making a TDK suit version of Batman whenever they're ready. I'll buy it. I'll be getting the Hot Toys 1/4 regardless. Just like i'll get the EB version if it ever comes to fruition.

So much truth being spoken here. I buy due to lack of options and the fact that the character is Batman. Despite the fact that we're likely going to get a 1/4 DX12, i'm still going to buy. Why? Because it's Batman. It's 1/4. And he fills the gap of not having a TDK/TDKR suit in 1/4. Like I said, you speak the truth.

Called HT department and said this pushed to End of July...they told me mid July in June...

Hot Toys should have issued a release date by now, model zone uk had a date of July 28th... I mean that dosnt matter anymore as they are in administration but still atleast they had a date lol

I think August will be right this time. Followed by the typical "month or so" delay for the states, putting it at September for Americans. The trick is to go based off of the date they give you and then guess. Rather than take what they give you and expect it (that never works). I'm about to place a preorder for the NECA 89 Batman. I'm seriously going to put my head through a wall if that gets to me before this one does

That NECA batman dosnt look too bad. Im considering it for my collection.

I know what you mean. I really like the idea of having this figure, but with the price, the year long wait, the promo pictures of it needing a major overhaul of the cowl, I am starting to lose faith in Hot Toys.

I guess I will be happy with my DX 12 and my Enterbay Bats, but if this isn't released by October, I am pulling my pre-order and moving on to something else!

True its a great price for 1/4 scale, pretty detailed aswell, would look good stood next to Hot Toys 1/4 Bats. Oh why not, im putting in the pre order!!! Lol

Exactly. Him next to Hot Toys Bats and Enterbays. Then, you might as well make the plunge and get the 66 Bats too. It would be pretty cool to have the progression of the character from his start on TV to where he's at now. Obviously omitting the Returns, Forever, and Batman & Robin. I can deal without the latter. Glad you're getting him though.

Yes i saw the Adam West version too, il have to think about that. I mean nothing gets worse than the joel schumacher incarnation of batman, oh what the hell i can afford them lol guess 66 is on the list too. Even my dad used to watch Adam West in the cowl back in the day lol
