I think they made it entirely out of styrofoam/foam to save on shipping costs as it's more lightweight and still very protective.

:lol I've been explaining this to Darkavatar but I guess he got so spoiled by the usual elegant boxes we get from HT. Nothing wrong with that, as to each his own, but that said, what's stupid to him is genius to some who don't care about boxes -- and of course to EB who managed to come up with a solution of providing cheap and lightweight packaging that does not compromise the safety of WHAT'S INSIDE.

EB boxes, while plain and cheap-looking, are VERY TOUGH. My dad uses the one from Batman to store heavy garage equipment, and it can withstand the weight, and can handle corner bumps with no damage. My sister uses the one from my BD T800 to store her school stuff. I guess economical isn't stupid for me at all.

BTW, the cover from Batman I'm using as wall decor in my studio ;)

Ok back on topic, have the latest pics by agen convinced you that the cowl has changed yet Drac? The eyes do look like they sit further back here.

Well Hot Toys hasn't used it and I don't think the boxes need to be that tough to protect something that isn't fragile compared to something that is fragile like a polystone statue. Speaking of polystone statues sideshow boxes are even better looking and the foam inside the box protects those statues. Well.. most of the time.

All it is about is keeping shipping cost down that's all! The figure is not fragile enough to have big protective box. What Hot Toys uses is good enough for a PVC figure. I personally think there should be a balance, the box should look at least appealing but not draw dropping. Anyway that is my opinion and I think we are going around in circles talking about this so I won't say anything more about it.

Cool, you have found a purpose for them.. mine are just laying around (three of them, Joker, Bats and T-800 BD boxes) but I'm not going to throw them away though, gonna need them when I move out of this little hole I'm living in now. :lol

I love those pictures, I added them to the first post. The figure is already pre-ordered and paid in full for from mother's basement in the UK, £340+20 shipping.. :lol But it's worth it!

Oh and yes, it does look improved. But I still can't pinpoint what exactly! Must be the eyes as you say.

Sounds like you are convinced then.

Well I didn't say that, everyone else did, it does look improved but I am not sure if the eyes are set back further or are painted darker. Nevertheless, if it looks like that in hand I am quite happy, regardless if there are improvements or not. :yess:

The eyes definitely look different in the picture. They are nothing like the google eyes it had and the faceplate are what makes it

Same here, it's gonna be awesome. I can't wait! :yess:

Also, I found this. Clearly there's some minor differences. And as I've said before, the new mouth piece, the amount of light that reaches the eyes, the lighting in general and the position of the PERS eyes in the new photos makes a tremendous difference.

The shape of "whatever that is called" clearly evens out as it gets closer to the corner of the eyes.

The top of the head is also wider, not as narrow.

Along with the brows, and all the other stuff mentioned.

The derpness of the proto is mind-boggling.

I hope you guys are aware of that those pictures were taken from different angles.

There were previous posts which highlighted differences in similar angles.

Sculpts ARE different. And certain things, no matter what angle, the difference is obvious (like the top of the head).

The only thing Tyranus post convinced me of was that the mouth piece is larger. The lines he drew were irrelevant as the angles were different in the pictures.

I'll bet we don't see this till Nov-Dec, but this year for sure. Hope I'm wrong and much sooner!
